26/6/2009 16:38 | re: post 1991 Barclays Stockbrokers now appear to be unable to complete the transfer of my holding to TD Waterhouse - apparently they can't tell me why until Monday... So, it has only taken 3 months for them to establish this. Is anyone else experiencing similar problems or are BS just especially useless? | carlos panda
26/6/2009 11:08 | tantalum and rare earths. Tin news Robert | robjm66
25/6/2009 13:22 | Copy of post hotcopper Don't worry Bagman not going to start flooding the board with Congo/Coltan related posts but this is significant as it shows both that the Congo Conflict minerals bill is not dead and there is still pressure there to crack down. "which is steadily picking up co-sponsors in the Senate, goes much further. We hope to see even stronger enforcement provisions when the House introduces companion legislation in the near future." Robert | robjm66
25/6/2009 12:40 | Know what you mean Luckyjonah i get that blur feeling regularly with Gip and i am practically tea total. Hope the good ship Gippsland can rescue from your whale soon (and the share price get to at least the break even point for you). Robert | robjm66
25/6/2009 12:26 | Thanks Rob, been reading these threads for years (average price 5p), but I must have fallen asleep after swigging the rum below decks as the last 6 months is a blur as far as GIP is concerned. Nothing I can do til Selftrade tell me otherwise anyhow, just wondered if anyone else had been "converted". | luckyjonah
25/6/2009 11:59 | Copy of post hotcopper "gibson tantalum" distortions from CCE Some interesting bits in the article but some bits are total distortions! "Other than Commerce we have three other companies more or less at a similar stage of evolution in the industry."" "There is Gibson listed in Australian Exchange which is doing a feasibility study in Egypt," "We are expecting to complete the scoping study of the project by Fall Season this year. Generally as you move a mineral exploration project from exploration to production you will follow the following steps." Drilling and Resource Definition Scoping Study Prefeasibility Study Final Feasibility Study (also known as bankable feasibility study) Surely they can not get away with kidding people Gippsland are at the same stage even if they misspell their name this is outrageous even for commerce. Effectively commerce is still between stage one and two while Gip is at the last stage has anyone got any ideas what we can do about this article? Robert | robjm66
25/6/2009 11:58 | Luckyjonah seems a lot of shareholders are having the same problems. Think one or two people may have been able to transfer the shares to TD waterhouse but i think even some of these people are facing delays. You can no longer trade Gip over here and your best bet is to get yourself set up to trade them in aus. If you read back here and on the three iii Gip thread you should find some information about what is happening. Robert | robjm66
25/6/2009 09:55 | Has anybody had anything change in terms of their GIP.L LSE holdings? Selftrade have provided the following unintelligible statement: "We are basically getting issuer statements sent out in the clients' names. These are subject to a delay as it has to go via the Australian registrars. We are awaiting further updates from our Custodians." Has anybody else had their nominee holdings converted to ASX? | luckyjonah
24/6/2009 19:21 | Yes,U,I agree ,I visited the oracle at Delphi at the the foot of Mount Olympus many years ago,in those days then a seriously atmospheric and weird place . This was on my European tour, in 'my salad days ';perhaps a return visit would yield an answer to the riddle that is Gippsland? Then again, as with the Pyramids at Giza, it is probably now something resembling a Disney world theme park ,I don't know... [In life ,one really should NEVER go back!] -SC | shadowchaser
24/6/2009 18:42 | From Bagman22 hotcopper explanation for the no votes. I probably shouldn't post this but, since we are entering a new area of openness, aren't we (?), I will. I have been around long enough to know some of the players of note in this stock and what they are doing. I can tell you that the NO votes recorded today came from sources who just felt that they couldn't stomach voting for the 1c dilution after so many years of support at much higher levels. Absolutely nothing to do with the credentials of Ian Gandel. My apologies to those who told me their voting intentions but, I'm sure, they wouldn't want their "NO" votes to be wrongly interpreted as personal negatives towards Ian Gandel. | robjm66
24/6/2009 13:03 | Shadow - I think we are but playthings of the gods and Mr Gandel plays Zeus. Perchance he will look on us mere mortals kindly. | unionhall
24/6/2009 12:50 | Well,Union, ----What do you make of that appointment ,eh? -SC | shadowchaser
24/6/2009 12:28 | Concerns about China's influence on raw material supply. robert | robjm66
24/6/2009 12:06 | Copy of post hotcopper All, Guessing the meeting could have been a lot more interesting than Gip is letting on as a comparison of the voting patterns shows someone is upset at recent developments at Gip. The big votes in the against columns in resolutions 1,2,4 would suggest that who ever it is is not a big Gandel fan. May not look that obvious but when you compare it to the AGM against column it stands out like a sore thumb. Does anyone know a good Australian Site for tracking down who are big holders of companies? I am happy though that Ian Gandel got on board today with a bit of luck we can now make faster progress. Certainly could do with some in the communication front Lol. Robert | robjm66
24/6/2009 11:33 | James I am delighted to advise that Mr Ian Gandel was today appointed as a Director of Gippsland Limited. Ian's commitment to Gippsland will undoubtedly bring considerable benefits to the Company as it moves forward in the development of the 44.5 million tonne Abu Dabbab tantalum-tin-feldspa | unionhall
23/6/2009 22:55 | If i remember rightly Godot never turns up Shadowchaser so hope you example is not to accurate! Robert | robjm66
23/6/2009 18:51 | Well, Shipmates, ---according to the Messiah [or just a very naughty boy, depending on your point of view] apparantly ,all we need is a lous[e]y Banker--- for sure, there must be a plethora of those around . You know, I would never have guessed that ,would you? Such pearls of wisdom ....! Notwithstanding,GIP seems to have been awaiting one far longer than I have for Godot. Lol! -SC | shadowchaser
23/6/2009 17:13 | V03 writing on deeplode. "DeepLode has written before about Ian Gandel and his very timely entrance into ASX junior miners. And he has suggested that he has done it again with his buy into GIP. Simply put Ian Gandel through this buy up of GIP, which is not yet complete, has found a way into the tin reserves at Zeehan in Tasmania at a bargain level price." just part of his post read the rest on... " V03 from hotcopper "As I have suggested a few times prior tantalum on its own was certainly not a reason for Ian Gandel to get into GIP.....SRZ and GIP have great ground here on the doorstep. Look back over the market activity in SRZ since Gandel's interest in GIP was declared.Mergers are his expertise!! Anyone out there wanting to off buy some tantalum ground in Egypt...It may be for sale.!!" "Well...somethings seem a little obvious to me...Ian Gandel is a home ground man...except for apartments here and there on a few continents...ah well maybe a mall or two as well...but Tassie tin at a bargain price? Felt like like a blog tonight so check out the old man's cyberspace. Family is still amazed that I have negotiated it...Cheers deeplode.com for lots of fun." "Zeehan is believing." "Abu which simply needs a banker's tick?" "Long time coming cso1...Why?" Word of warning like everyone else i am sure VO3 and who ever is feeding him information have their own agendas. Robert | robjm66
23/6/2009 11:09 | This is more like it someone who agrees with me i could get used to this Lol. Maybe i should not stick my neck out considering what happened last time but i do feel confident Shadowchaser. Copy of my post hotcopper Some interesting parts of article though he has obviously been got at by CCE some where along the line. Amazing how all these so called experts have not even seem to heard of Gip. "There is a moderate demand. Because of the economic slowdown, a lot of manufacturers have cut back production. I'm thinking as soon as it appears clear that the economies are going to advance, there's going to be a great deal of catch-up on the part of these manufacturing companies to rebuild their inventories of tantalum, niobium and other specialty metals. So I look forward under those circumstances to a very sharp increase in new demand to come into the market." "Metals X Ltd is exploring near its Mount Bischoff mine and near Zeehan on Tasmania's west coast, and has found some deposits with 14 per cent tin." Robert | robjm66
23/6/2009 10:31 | GIP-From what you are saying ,and I tend to agree, that ''this time '' it is different . Matters have really come to a head . Financing should be available any time in the JULY-SEPTEMBER envelope. The extended due diligence is mere window dressing- or at best a 'belt and braces' job . I do believe that Gip management thought they were there last time-- as you opine above- hence the pitifully small funding exercises actioned at that time -they thought they had it in the bag![so did I!] We live in hope! -SC | shadowchaser
22/6/2009 15:00 | Nowhere to be seen ,how about in the 'Admiral Benbow'? - -SC | shadowchaser
22/6/2009 09:37 | Right,---that's it--- 'Let loose the Press-gang' That Mark Sparkle', the scurvy sea-dog, is out there ,no doubt, drunk in some tavern- Try the Blind Beggar inn and drag him back on board! -SC | shadowchaser
21/6/2009 21:04 | It does seem most of the omens are good for Gip this time round Shadowchaser which probably means i am missing something! Robert P.s apart from Marksnsparkle :-( | robjm66
21/6/2009 20:05 | Yes, Rob, this underlines the fact that there is no viable substitute yet available for Tantalum and THAT is precisely why I believe GIP will prove a WINNER! -SC | shadowchaser |
