Ah okay, so you're buying in advance of an update statement and hoping for a big move in your direction on the day of the statement.

Interesting strategy. I guess there is risk there if the the statement is as expected and already factored into the price, but opportunity if the statement is better than expected.

What I've done this Summer is check back to last year for update dates etc - ensure the stock is in good shape and has a good outlook statement in the previous set of results or update.

I then buy around a few days before - I usually have current holdings anyway - but for this summer I'm hitting each one with a large trade from a cash position.

It's even better if the stare chart is in consolidation or flag etc etc.

Nearly got undone though had 30k in DTG on the back of a 'Exceeding' statement which turned out to be complete b*ll*cks. It was liquid enough for me to get out at 8am and thankfully had risen the previous day by 4.6%.

There are some lovely charts out there at the moment - BOO - ACSO etc etc

This along with OTB, JE. and BUR (being cautious there as the business is compilcated) are next up.

Should have had an update from ABC today, hopefully it will land tomorrow.

GAW and FEVR have certainly been good movers.

Do you use share price momentum as an entry criteria then? G4M certainly seems to have it in spades.

A bit of everything at the moment, mainly growth stocks but this Summer have taken a lot into cash and trading the updates as well.

Did really well with my 2 large trades on GAW and FEVR today, some of that money came in here for the update hopefully on the 28th.

Also piled into KRS yesterday and today for an update early August, had to get in early as the chart look amazing.

If the latest results are anything to go by, then that trading statement should be rather good:

"We begin our current financial year with good momentum and continued appetite from customers around the world for our market leading service and product offering. We are well positioned to deliver further growth and have plans in place to continue investing in our operational facilities and systems to support our growth plans. The next 12 months will be exciting as we move into our new head office in York, scale up our European operations, and enhance our worldwide proposition, and we remain confident in the long-term growth prospects for the Group."

I really wouldn't expect that. £9 more likely, but given a very encouraging trading statement to accompany the AGM on Friday, then just perhaps. Strong progress in European markets will be key - they are way bigger than the U.K.

With the share price now on an all time high it looks like a 'blue sky' run to - well who quite knows. Given a year (or two) it could be a long way ahead of where it is now.

The update should certainly be very positive if the recent results in May are anything to go by:

Current price is meaningless on it's own, even in comparison to when it was a quid.

Look at the market cap. (150m), the sales, profits, margins, PE, PEG, DCF, ROE, cost of sales, business model, market niche, market trends, company websites, management nous, future outlook, international expansion, customer satisfaction, relative market valuations of successful Internet companies, and the potential effects of Brexit.

I think that just about covers it. :0)

I missed the buy at £1, so watching.

I guess, taking away the current price and if we look at the Mcap instead, it's a question of growth plans, targets for the company.

Annual report and Notice of Annual General Meeting

The board of Gear4music (Holdings) plc ('the Company'), the largest UK based retailer of musical instruments and music equipment, announces that the Company's Annual Report and Accounts for the year ended 28 February 2017 and Notice of Annual General Meeting ('the AGM') are now available to view on the Company's website www.gear4musicplc.com and will be posted to shareholders on 4 July 2017. A related form of proxy will be posted at the same time.

The AGM will be held at 11.30 a.m. on 28 July 2017 at the offices of Walker Morris LLP, Kings Court, 12 King Street, Leeds LS1 2HL.

A trading update will be provided at the AGM on 28 July 2017.
