Whilst I like the barometer of GDXJ and GDX, personally I prefer investing in poorly researched minnow gold miners with far greater potential leverage to PoG. IMO Higher Risk - Higher Potential Reward?

There was me thinking that no one read this thread ... and we now have had two posts within 24 hrs... I am quite bullish on gold (and especially silver) price in 2019 ... and anticipate that junior miners can add a significant leverage to that ... but WFTDIK (but hopefully more than Gordan Brown) ... I await 2019 and the political and economic events it brings with interest as at times of volatility then there is money to be made if you make the right call ....

Thanks for the link, not previously aware of that site; an encouraging read. BTW FWIW I took a GDXJ entry position last week after PoG made a quick reversal on the afternoon of Friday the 14th.

In a world of general investing doom, IMO PoG and it's coat-tail holders seems to hold a glimmer of hope!

I am interested in the mid-cap goldies that have recently been EJECTED indiscriminately from GDXJ based solely on market cap, without any regard to fundamentals. Here is a useful 6 min interview from 14th June:



The driver is clear, frustratingly only two stocks are featured in the video, Wesdome (WDO-TO) and LKlondex (KDX.TO).

Both of these had a high in Feb/March, dropped 20-30% by mid June, and are now down to ~50% of their Spring 2017 high. (I guess they may be weak later today?). So the buying wave since the ETF eviction has apparently not kicked-in = Opportunity??
I havn’t yet looked at the fundamentals and forecasts. Notably Klondex has a growing band of analysts following it for next year.

Ok that's me in this and GDX for £10k each in the SIPP on a 3-5 year horizon. These ETF funds whilst slightly off the floor in price are still in ones view pretty low. Let's see what happens.
