14/5/2010 10:30 | The way I see it is the funds made £1.2bn over the quarter. that is what goes to the bottom line over redemptions. The markets are too concerned with the Greeks not the Alpha hence the ramshackle shuffle to the exits. | liquidkid
14/5/2010 07:46 | Gartmore Group hit by withdrawals Business Financial Newswire 14/05/10 Gartmore Group reports net outflows of £834m during April after the suspension of one of its star fund managers. Asset under management as at 30 April 2010 were £22.4bn- up just 1% since the year end. Furthermore, on the dealing day of 4 May 2010, there was an outflow of £380m from alternative funds. Up until the end of the first quarter assets under management had grown by 6% to £23.5bn but the outflows in April and May have hurt the Group. CEO Jeffrey Mayer says: "The business performed reasonably well during the first quarter, however more recent events have caused a loss of momentum. "With the reinstatement of Guillaume and other steps we have taken, we are in a position to regain that momentum." | etome
13/5/2010 00:05 | mryesyes, agreed. The trading statement on Friday will show that we are making solid profits across the business and our funds. Guy was short of European stocks and indexes prior to the recent fall. He has closed these positions and has made on the upside when the market turned on Monday following the greek relief decision. The management statement on Friday will show lots of optimism for the business following this recent crisis and they will surprise with a low rate of redemptions of which many of these have come back on board. Also there are many new investors coming on board building up stock positions as they are quietly confident of a very positive interim management statement. | rossy73
