"A great day for GAR. As well as the £2 million in new cash, they gained a further £3.5 million. Why? They did an acquisition for £5.5 million deferred. The seller then went bust so a new deal has been agreed with the liquidators to pay just £2 million in total. Lucky or what".

If you dont get it, you really should not be punting in penny shares.

Are the GAR results out this month?

GAR makes another half million profit and further reduces its liabilities. Turnover increased to over £3m. Not as good as I had been expecting but still very positive. Looks like a deal with a company in the US is likely - should boost earnings further.

Costs under control, turnover up, good profits, deal in the offing, "strong position", Roy Stanley increased his holding to 11%, other directors have increased their holdings, gearing is coming down.

LIABILITIES
31 Dec 2005 (GBP) 31 Dec 2006 (GBP) 31 Dec 2007 (GBP)
3.78 298.82% 3.35 212.10% 3.14 170.67% m

The above liabilities are mostly owed to the 'prefs'.

Hopefully those who wanted to get out have now sold. Those who can see the upside are still here. If you take a look at the share price graph you can see that after each spike there has been a settlement in the share price at a new higher level.

No doubt there will be an attempt by a certain poster to talk this good news down - he/she has his own agenda (to pick up stock more cheaply) so don't be surprised - just be warned.

Sniffer,
Not sure which school of accounting you went to. Then again I have not come across many pump and dump exponents that have a clear understanding of accounts. They usually buy on a whim or momentum and then think that blowing hot or cold air at it will either move the share price up or down.

The prefs are owed money which should have been paid hence they are accounted under current liability, (debt maturing within the year).

No mention of prefs in GAR because the maturity date for the preferential shares has passed , ( may however get some explaination from the Notes to the accounts). In short GAR should have redeemed these years ago.>>>> And this is the source of the disagreement with the pref holders: Since the prefs has not been redeemed, the holders are demanding that it should still be accruing the yearly interest until paid. GAR is arguing that since the redemtion date for the prefs has passed, they do not have to pay any further interest except the previously acrued interest and the redemption value for the prefs. [Hence for the past few years according to GAR the prefs are no longer accruing interests, pref holders disagree ...this may eventually be settled in court when there is enough money to attempt to redeem the prefs]

elscalderes,

You should write to ADVfn and let them know that their financial information for GAR disagrees with yours.

Tell them to check their website by clicking on 'financials' for GAR and scrolling down to "EQUITY" (near the bottom of the page). Ask them why they are not showing any prefs for GAR for the last 2 years.

I'm sure everyone would benefit if you did this as it might improve the standard of posts on this thread.

Linhur,

With respect this is the poorest of attempts at a deramp that I have seen in a long time. You only have to check the Financials of GAR to see that the improvement in GAR's trading goes straight to the bottom line!

20 trading days and then we will see if GAR has beaten MP - stand by for a giant step forward for GAR's balance sheet. Also, expect to see an upbeat message regarding GAR's prospects.

For all of us that have been in since Upton&Southern days it will be just reward for our patience.

I am glad to say I took advantage of the recent buying opportunity to add a few more...

For the record, I have successfully called the top and the bottom on GAR (CST and U&S) several times now. It is called trading.

If you look at my posts over a period of time you will see that I have been right with my calls. I make no apologies for making a profit.

Currently I am a buyer of GAR, and, have previously given my reasons as to why. You can simply ignore this or become fixated on it - it makes no difference to me.

Meanwhile, as long as this is still a free country where making a profit is not a crime, I will continue to post my thoughts on where I see GAR going...which over the next few months will be UP

1. RS building a stake - currently 10%
2. Director increasing holding by 10%
3. HR market strong (other companies in sector also reporting strong results)
4. GAR reporting strong results
5. GAR reducing debt
6. Small amount of buying will push share price higher

Good luck.
