18/3/2012 10:06 | Cube boss - 17 Mar'12 - 19:55 - 3382 of 3394 Sir Rational: You said earlier that "Game was Toast" ==================== He said the same thing about PFD for months and then changed his tune | ihavenoclue
18/3/2012 09:30 | You're not feeding the trolls any more, linslder? Does that mean an end to cannibalism? What's the problem with those who don't currently have a position in GMG making comments. Rather than throw a hissy fit, perhaps you could explain what's wrong with Knigel's or my post above? | ron d voo
18/3/2012 09:09 | ORIGINAL STORY: Gargantuan US shop GameStop wants to buy GAME, according to a report. GameStop is particularly interested in GAME's UK and Spanish businesses. It's not interested in the Australian stores, though, MCV said. According to MCV, GameStop does not wish to "double up" by owning both GAME Australia and its own EB chain. GAME, which confirmed this morning that it will not stock Mass Effect 3, FIFA Street, Tiger Woods 13, The Sims 3 Showtime or Mario Party 9, held a meeting with publishers last week to try to negotiate improved lending terms for stock. "We committed to only stocking products on which we could get the right credit terms, regardless of the title or the supplier," an internal memo to staff read. "We will not stock products if the terms are not right for our business - a position we believe is critical to our long term health as a business - we have taken the very difficult decision to not stock EA's March releases, including Mass Effect 3." As of September 2011, GAME is a worldwide business of 1287 shops, 615 of which are in the UK. GAME took £1.625 billion in revenue in its last full trading year. It expects to make an £18 million loss this year. Today GAME's shares fell nearly 16 per cent, from 5.75p to 4.94p at the close of trading. Given GAME is a PLC, any discussion with GameStop over a takeover would have to be declared to the stock exchange. Both GAME, GameStop UK and GameStop US have declined to comment directly on the report. | bingowing

18/3/2012 08:51 | I rest my case . Yes I would make negative or positive comments on stock I hold, if i don't hold then I'd say nothing, why would anyone continually waste their time on a thread doing that seems incredibly sad to me , and whiffs of a certain type of person.A typical example is the post above. The comments made by these people aren't constructive or reasoned they are comments made to antagonise , wind up, and attention seek. Worthless in the whole. My last post on this thread, I'm no longer feeding the trolls. | linslader
18/3/2012 08:00 | Good point, Knigel. Being honest, who hasn't held onto losing shares that they really know have little chance of a turnaround? When the risk reaches a certain level, you have to bite the bullet, accept the loss and move on. Around here, it seems normal to take a wild punt with a 80-100% stop loss, while shooting down anything even slightly realistic or negative. | ron d voo
17/3/2012 22:58 | Linslader, you could put it the other way round..."why are the posters who hold this stock on this thread only posting positive comments do you think?" I hold pently of shares (sold GMG two weeks ago may buy again if situ sorts itself out) and will make a negative comment on any I hold if it warrants it. Don't you? | knigel
17/3/2012 22:35 | no comments? | traidemark
17/3/2012 21:24 | A genuine question. Why are the posters who claim not to hold this stock on this thread only posting negative do you think ? I've yet to see a positive post from a non holder , strange that eh ?. | linslader
17/3/2012 20:30 | To be fair though we have a good week of dynamism in the sp, plenty of opportunity to play a game so to speak. Many bottled at 0.8, many bought at 1.2 and sold a few at 3.8 or wherever. Holding or not holding over the w/e. Good fun really with plenty of possible strategies. Bit scary when GS pitch up though, I think we can guarantee what they are doing (or already have done) with their holding will be err interesting. They never really change do they. Good night all and thanks for a great week, thats not to say I have made anything significant but a very good ride indeed. Classy that it all happened during Cheltenham week n'est pas? | gunsofmarscapone
17/3/2012 20:29 | phil - thankyou filtering isn't adequate | gurp
17/3/2012 20:09 | As Sir R says, why do people want to delude themselves that the statement means anything other than imminent shareholder wipeout? Compare it with RNSs issued by other companies just before they went pop. | ron d voo
17/3/2012 19:55 | Sir Rational: You said earlier that "Game was Toast".. I thought it was Pheasant..:0))) | cube boss
17/3/2012 18:15 | Knigel ... I agree with all but the last bit. It has to happen by next week as it needs to be sorted by the 24th. | ihavenoclue
17/3/2012 18:00 | Dear me. The new resident basher is distorting fact from fiction and lashing out like a cornered animal. Filter it and put it out of its' misery. | linslader
17/3/2012 17:20 | It's the shame situ as last week. Get in if you fancy a high risk punt ... then get out or reduce once/if you make a decent profit. The threat of share suspension is still there in the background but if this does happen, it probably won't be next week..imo | knigel
17/3/2012 17:18 | You're forgetting to read the statement in the most obvious way. A company does not put out a statement like that until it is the end of the road. Basically, directors have been advised that unless they issue that statement, they will be liable to be personally sued after the administration event because they already knew administration or sale for a penny to a white knight was virtually inevitable and failed to warn shareholders. When there is a reasonable chance of survival, directors have no need to issue such a statement. | sir rational
17/3/2012 17:08 | It does not say that. You happily forgot the word uncertain.. which means they don't know the outcome of any negotiations. Why not just underline 'will result' then hey presto it will be 20p on Monday. Some cr*p spouted here.. | sapper2476
17/3/2012 16:50 | youhavenoclue - since your name isn't at the top of the thread do not give me instructions. I don't normally respond to such people as SJ, but if you think untrue statements, that other less aware people ARE likely to read & possibly believe, shouldn't be challenged then I'm quite happy to be filtered by such as you. suggest we leave it there............ | gurp
17/3/2012 12:17 | sapper2476 - 17 Mar'12 - 11:35 - 3368 of 3371 Because he has a short and he is cr*pping himself in case it hits 6p plus...lol No one other than the board has a clue what will happen and to be honest we may get no news either way until the end of the month... ride the waves.... same as TW. and a few others i could mention.... ==================== sapper ... errr think there will be. They need something in place by the 24th | ihavenoclue |
