11/4/2024 07:20 | To add to post 20890. Smaller players imvho may well be excluded from global ramp ups due to these barriers and these are the types of businesses that have been cut and pasted to the nth degree here for all the past years. What a total waste of time this has now been shown to be. With a global player like Haleon with deep pockets funding the marketing and advertising major rivals who do have leverage over retail outlets will think hard whether the costs and profit returns are justified when they face such a well funded/hard nosed competitor with first mover advantage. It would probably cheaper to buy us out...not that any LTBHs here would want this at such an early stage of development - 3 to 5 years ahead maybe... dyor and no advice etc | takeiteasy
10/4/2024 23:04 | Petroc, I would let it drop, honestly. There are arguably 10,000 companies that can add a few chemicals together and create a gel and place a label on it and punt it down the market. Just like there are the same number of firms who can make a bar of soap, bottle of jam etc etc. We have created first mover advantage with barriers to entry around marketing spend, global large scale manufacturing and distribution and credibility with regulatory and health service bodies. Creating the product is but a tiny part of the mix - good luck to anyone who wants to be the second mover....it is for the limited perspective on the wider strategy stuff that makes the "anyone can make a tube of gel can't they" so school boyish and irrelevant. He will keep doing this as he does not appear in any way to understand what a business model looks like ...lols.. Great to see such high volumes and allowing those who have been stuck here for ages with illiquid stock to bail out at this price. dyor and no advice.. | takeiteasy

10/4/2024 19:20 | Besins too can just submit to get the pharmacologically inactive ingredients of their hydroalcoholic gel cleared in a matter of days via the 510k medical device pathway as an equivalent non medicated evaporative cooling medical device gel ˜clinically proven’ to treat ED. Their hydroalcoholic gel is even already FDA approved at delivering real drugs. Unlike Dermasys. Manufactured by Laboratoires Besins Iscovesco AndroGel (testosterone gel) 1% is a clear, colorless hydroalcoholic gel containing testosterone. Pharmacologically inactive ingredients in AndroGel 1% are carbomer 980, ethanol 67.0%, isopropyl myristate, purified water, and sodium hydroxide. These ingredients are not pharmacologically active. PROCEDURE TO TREAT ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION Application filed by Laboratoires Besins ‘Use of a hydroalcoholic gel’ The use according to claim 10, in which the hydroalcoholic gel comprises: (d) of the 30% to 98% ethanol; | mdi

10/4/2024 13:29 | Auxilium Pharmaceuticals based on the Testim gel studies can also get a non medicated placebo hydroalcoholic gel cleared via the 510k pathway as a ‘clinically proven’ medical device for ED Researchers found that, over 14 weeks, men who were randomly assigned to take Viagra plus testosterone gel did no better than those given the drug plus a hormone-free placebo gel. Overall, men in both groups responded to the drug, Spitzer said. On average, the men's score on a standard set of erectile dysfunction questions increased by about 8 points removing them up to the "mild" erectile dysfunction category. And there was no substantial difference between men who used the testosterone gel and those who used the placebo Auxilium Pharmaceuticals provided the testosterone gel, and Pfizer supplied the Viagra Testim® (testosterone gel) is a clear to translucent hydroalcoholic topical gel Inactive ingredients in Testim are purified water, pentadecalactone, carbopol, acrylates, propylene glycol, glycerin, polyethylene glycol, ethanol (74%), and tromethamine | mdi
10/4/2024 13:15 | Happy for you to do what you like with your spare time but please do not pontificate here on the basis you are a trained patent lawyer in medical practices and try to provide any sort of judgements or opinions- or if you do then please note down your legal qualifications to do so :) | takeiteasy
10/4/2024 12:24 | Even if the yet more supposed Futura patent applications on who knows what are even granted. It is still very unlikely if any patent or number of patents on some small excipient ingredients can be successfully legally enforced to prevent any competitor from marketing their own similar non medicated placebo hydroalcoholic gel. Any hydroalcoholic gel with the same basic alcohol and water ingredients has been proven to work and can cause ‘evaporative cooling’. Another Futura claim with no real evidence to support it and how Eroxon supposedly works in ED. That is what the FDA only defined Eroxon as, ‘a non medicated hydroalcoholic gel’ Its been proven years ago that similar non medicated hydroalcoholic gels will also work for some men as has been proven in many other clinical trials. So no Futura patent or number of patents on just a very specific formulation of a non medicated hydroalcoholic gel having an effect in ED will ever be enforceable based on prior art and obviousness of other similar hydroalcoholic gels already proven at doing the same. Men were first treated with tadalafil 10 mg once a day (OAD) for 4 weeks; if not successful, they were randomized in a double-blind, placebo-controlled design to receive placebo or a 1% hydroalcoholic T gel (50 mg/5 g gel) Erectile function progressively improved over a period of at least 12 weeks in both the placebo and T treatment groups | mdi

10/4/2024 11:55 | Does an ATD hydroalcoholic gel ‘meet criteria for same intended use’. Yes as proven in the Libigel studies and the testosterone gel studies. Has ‘slightly different technology but produces similar end results’. Yes made of similar solvents and also causes evaporative cooling. And is ‘safe and effective’. Yes. the ATD gel technology is already on the market in many gels delivering drugs so wont be any issues getting a non medicated form of hydroalcoholic gel cleared as just a medical device like Eroxon is. ˜De Novo authorization will also allow subsequent devices of the same type and intended use to come to the market through the 510k pathway, which could enable the devices to get on the market faster’ a company must compare their product to one already cleared by the FDA and provide evidence that their product is substantially equivalent to the previously cleared (legally marketed) device. To be substantially equivalent, the product must meet criteria for the same intended use, have the same technology or (slightly) different technology but produces similar end results, and be safe and effective. Once pre-market clearance is received from the FDA the device can be distributed commercially immediately | mdi
10/4/2024 11:30 | If we end the day back to all square I think it will be that some will realise we have found a way to manage the really important risks that MDI shouts about 10-20 times a day :) | takeiteasy
10/4/2024 11:25 | "we expect to receive further patent approval across other key ED markets during 2024" Perhaps their agreement did not allow them to say this and I am wondering if Haleon asked FUM to prioritise the USA patent before launching - I imagine if they had not the numpties would be jumping up and down accusing them of being short sighted. It is the single best thing about this whole release that they are getting patents in place before giving rivals any sense of what the sales budgets are to question how big the market opportunity and hoefully keep their edge - certainly what I would have done if running the firm :) MDI will jump up and down as much as he likes but the single plank for his bear case that everyone can mimic the products is taken down :) dyor and no advice | takeiteasy

10/4/2024 10:30 | Uisng any other similar hydroalcoholic gel like ATD will also all cause evaporative cooling. Transparent Hydroalcoholic Gels Ethanol or other alcohols (propylene glycol, isopropanol) can be used in hydroalcoholic gels Futura are apparently relying on patents on specific ingredients of Dermasys which play a minimal part in the evaporative cooling which they claim, without any real evidence, is supposedly how Dermasys is having an effect in ED. Eroxon® contains ethanol, propylene glycol Dermasys is a drug delivery technology platform that provides rapid and targeted local delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) at therapeutic levels to the required site of action application of gel with API leads to a combination of solvents including volatile solvents then volatile solvents evaporate, leaving the remaining solvent supersaturated with API in turn, derives API through the tissue and then API penetrated the skin rapidly offering rapid penetration or sustained release Antares Pharma has developed and patented Advanced Transdermal Delivery (ATD) technology, which is based on a combination of solvents and compounds that enhance the permeation of API through the skin. The most commonly used solvents in ATD technology are alcohols, glycols and glycol ethers. Following evaporation of the solvents, thermodynam | mdi
