Telefonica Digital UK was closed down in 2014 after only 3 years. Have to confess that I have no idea what they did.

I actually got a frisson of excitement when I saw the RNS Flag come up, good grief I thought - good news in the offing ?
But no, another expense

The new non- exec looks to have good pedigree and cosies up the boardroom, makes AS feel supported .........but is he really needed ? Our business plan seems as simple as can be , it really is not diversified, all AS energy and that of the senior overpaid executives should be focused on the core 2 strands, having more advice is always a good thing but I bet this guy will be 'coining' it , we have to look after the pennies, cos the pounds are at present nowhere to be found

This has got to be my worse investment EVER

Google expect to ship 900k Smart Home Audio devices this year and it to increase to 3.7m next year and 6.3m in 2018.
If they hit those figures it will be great news for FST.

Job Purpose

Frontier Silicon requires a Senior Developer to join our Advanced Technology Group based in Cambridge. You will be part of a team defining and developing new and innovative web services, APIs, back-end databases and analytics.

You will work closely with product managers, hardware engineers, embedded software engineers and application developers to help create the next generation of Smart Audio and Smart Home devices and apps for some of the world’s leading consumer electronics audio brands.

You must have experience of developing with Ruby on Rails as well as other relevant technologies.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Web service software architecture and design.
Hands-on server software development, test, debug, deployment and support.
Software specification and documentation.
Project planning and technical leadership.

Qualifications & Skills

Good honours degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
5+ years experience of software systems architecture, design and development.
Strong experience of developing with Ruby on Rails is a must.
Proven track-record of developing and deploying Linux-hosted web services at scale.
Passionate about creating beautiful REST + JSON APIs.
Experienced in a range of web technologies such as Ruby on Rails, java script, node.js, AngularJS, CSS, HTML, SSL, OAuth, REST, HTTP, WebSockets.
Experience of MySQL database design issues and techniques (data models, queries, indexing, cacheing, mirroring, sharding etc.)
Good understanding of web security threats and solutions.
Experience of working in an Agile development process (e.g. SCRUM).
Tools such as Rake, Git, SVN, JIRA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A personal interest in audio and music is a distinct advantage.

Pretty poor the ticker issues hasn't been sorted out yet. The broker needs a kick up the backside.
Hopefully get an update on connected audio once the US Election is finally out the way.

Hopefully we'll see a change but Google hardware rarely sells well and rushing out a product in need of refining is hardly promising (definitely not the mark of a company committed to quality) for anyone who's ever had to deal with Android issues - fixes rarely if ever arrive. I'd think most would opt for a unit that already works. Can't think of any raging hardware successes from Google. Fingers crossed though.

Anyone hoping to see a narrowing of the spread must be feeling pretty disappointed right now. Still 7p !!

So here is the new beginning to coincide with the launch of what should hopefully be the high revenue growth side of the business.

Generally reviews of Google Home have been positive but product needs refining.seems they have had to rush it a bit to get Xmas market.

People do seem v postive about the FST speaker connectivity piece.

I would think we will get an update shortly.

I bailed TMZ at 2.8 (112 new money). Without news I can't see FST holding up at these levels, c80p, for long. I just can't get excited enough to reinvest tbh.. when they start creating a fair amount of cash possibly even look at paying dividends it might be worth holding a few but can't see any fireworks.

Thanks Rob. Let us hope that the new name ushers in a new era. If the Google connection goes well, then 2017 could be the breakthrough year we have all been waiting for.
