Investor discussions concerning Frontier IP Group Plc (FIPP) highlight a sentiment fraught with both expectation and frustration. Investors express concern over the lack of significant updates from the company, indicative of a "no news is bad news" mentality. Individual comments suggest that while there are positive developments anticipated from portfolio companies like Alusid and Pulsiv, the pace of progress is deemed slow. A common sentiment echoed among investors is the desire for tangible results, with one investor likening their hopefulness to "a battered house wife" holding onto optimism for change after substantial losses.
Financially, investors are increasingly inclined to average down on their positions, suggesting they see potential value despite current price challenges. There is a general agreement that the company must deliver significant advancements from at least one of its portfolio constituents this year. Comments indicate that the absence of immediate, impactful commercial traction is a primary concern, as one investor points out: "I would rather they got genuine commercial traction than winning an award." This sentiment underscores the urgency for Frontier IP Group to navigate its portfolio companies towards meaningful market share to avoid falling behind in competitive sectors.

Frontier IP Group Plc has recently announced significant developments concerning its portfolio companies, particularly with GraphEnergyTech and Alusid. GraphEnergyTech has entered into a collaboration with Taiwanese partners and the University of Cambridge to advance solar technology through their project, Graphene Electrode Technology for Perovskite Solar Cells (GETPSC). This initiative has secured a £884,129 grant from Innovate UK, indicating strong governmental support for their innovative technological efforts in renewable energy.
Additionally, Alusid, in which Frontier IP holds a 35.4% stake, has gained traction in the market with the launch of its Mas floor tiles through Topps Tiles, the UK’s leading tile specialist. The Mas range is notable for being composed of up to 98.5% recycled industrial waste, positioning Alusid as a sustainable alternative within the ceramic tile industry, which is known for its significant environmental impact. Frontier IP’s continued investments in these innovative projects highlight its commitment to commercializing intellectual property that addresses both technological advancement and environmental sustainability.

They keep getting distributors… but I’d prefer to see them getting sales. But quite quiet on the sales front. Would love to hear news… |
Bit of news |
Well he holds 15%, AI is strong of late but EXAI is only a third of the IPO price. Statement is clear that it does not influence the business. Predators to take a look from here? |
So 6 weeks after Exscientias founder and CEO Andrew Hopkins was awarded the CBE, he is sacked thanks to this story. |
Well, I’d assume that if a leading global manufacturer such as Salom has already adopted the chips into at least one of its platforms, then it must be ticking some boxes. |
I’d like to hear what a skeptic of the Pulsiv technology would say about it… there are many AIM companies with remarkable “game changing” technology that never materialise. Personally I’m hopeful this is a real game changer, but since we’re not engineers and not in that industry, I don’t think I’m qualified to make that call. That’s why we need to hear from someone who can put the strongest negative case forward. Is it hard to incorporate into existing tech? Does it wear out quickly? Is it fully compatible with everything? Is it cheap enough? Is there enough volume/margin? Is it safe? Is there increased risk it might damage products if it fails? |
Good on you Hastings , I am sure we will be all ears on this board to hear what he has to say , so thank you in advance .Exscientia closed up 11% tonight with the founder and CEO declaring he owns over 15% of it . Frontier's albeit reduced residual holding is still worth £3m , or over 10% of Frontier's current market cap .18.2% of Pulsiv has a similar ring to it . |
Pleased to say that I am meeting up with Darrel Kingham at the end of this week and very much looking forward! |
I have been in touch with the Pulsiv CEO in the last few days and I'm currently in the process of arranging a date to meet up to conduct another interview with him.Hopefully that will happen soon and I'll add something following that for interest. |
I share your frustration at the lack of news on ustake. The trouble is I’m not fully au fait with how long discussions, testing and product designs take. When we hear they are in talks with majors and then hear nothing for ages we just don’t know if talks are still ongoing or if they walked away. For now I’m happy to accept they are still on track with discussions etc. |
We’ve only been told how wonderful this tech is by Pulsiv and its distributors (which is what you’d expect). But I’m just a little surprised this tech hasn’t made it into any known manufacturers products yet. As an investor I’d like to see it gaining traction by now. |
That’s my understanding and the best option with a far greater valuation potential |
I’m still wondering what prompted Rich Ford to post this a couple of weeks ago. |
It was only Sept 22 that Osmium launched. I have to assume that as distributors have had them on sale for a while (Digikey £4.34 for 1, or £6538 for reel of 3000), that sales are being made. How quickly that shows as products on the shelves is another matter. What we want to see is an announcement that a big Tier 1 company is going to be using the chip. That should get investors attention. |
As someone who is not technically aware of Pulsiv technology, what I do know is Pulsiv has attracted some talent to work there, they’ve got distributors saying encouraging things and they’ve won a few awards… what evidence is there of their technology being incorporated into products though? Its been some years now |
AQC Not yet but hopefully major news this year |
Here’s a snap of what the CEO told me when I interviewed him close to a year ago. |
Have sales started of Pulsiv equipment? We’ve seen a lot of distribution deals signed, but I have no idea if sales have started yet, or if any major manufacturers have started using the equipment or commented on it… |
Frontier undoubtedly cheap thanks to the institutions selling down. Allusid IPO and potential big news from Camgraphic this year could both be catalyst for rerate but for me it’s all about Pulsiv. |
Quite an effect Simon Thompson’s tip had. Interesting that sometimes people ignore his tips and they have minimal effect and sometimes they cause quite a stir. I suppose many agree that frontier is cheap and has a great future. |
Certainly looking lively, GLA |
Crikey. Looks like the potential of and news re Pulsiv and Alusid has finally reached the market. |
Pulsiv was the main reason a number of years ago that I invested here. It’s been a frustrating time and I have probably ended up with a much larger investment than originally planned. |

As background, Astute Electronics were signed up as a distributor in August 2022, about 6 weeks before Pulsiv unveiled their Osmium microprocessor. |

A technical overall outlook of the pricing paths has been in the form of a downward-prevailing trend, as the operations in the Wood Group (John) Plc (LSE:WG.) are yet under a falling force, as the stock price is rebuilding a basis under the sell signal line of the moving averages. Given the current market conditions, […]

It has been practically demonstrated that bulls have come to maintain steady recouping moves around usual critical support lines, as the financial output records that Itv Plc (LSE:ITV) set a base on 70, attempting surges through variant overhead barriers.
