09/5/2008 10:43 | tech i agree Mentor very likely to raise their offer now they know others are interested. I am intrigued to know who these other parties (more than one?)are. | littlemadam
09/5/2008 10:27 | If you sell today then you will get the divvy, but you will miss out on Mentor's raised offer when it comes. MD | techmark
09/5/2008 10:11 | If you sell today do you still get the divvy? | tonyx
09/5/2008 09:27 | bungler Yeap, great book. Anybody interesting in shares and trading should read it. Regards | techmark
09/5/2008 09:22 | V. true. My view is a bid looked 'nailed on' but I must say mudbaths certainty that there would be no approach worried me slightly. Now 140p looks about right. rival offers look v intetresting indeed. | psolomons
09/5/2008 09:22 | Thanks for that techmark - haven't read that for ages - what was it called "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" or similar wasn't it? | bungler
09/5/2008 09:21 | Yup, there were/have been plenty of chances for p.i's to pick up more stock after Mentor began stake building....and still have made a tasty profit ;O) | abcd1234
09/5/2008 09:11 | This won't be sold for 104p, it will significantly higher than 104p. The fact that there are other parties interested is great news. I remind the 80p sellers of last week of this great quote from Jesse Livermore. (Chapter V) ... "The reason is that a man may see straight and clearly and yet become impatient or doubtful when the market takes its time about doing as he figured it must do. That is why so many men in Wall Street, who are not at all in the sucker class, not even in the third grade, nevertheless lose money. The market does not beat them. They beat themselves, because though they have brains they cannot sit tight." | techmark
09/5/2008 09:04 | bungler see my post 1420 - we are likely to see a bidding war 120p is certainly on the cards the board has swiflty rejechted the unsolicited approach - so it will now turn hostile and Metnor will need to start picking stock up, however, this wont be that easy if others are/have made offers too as they too will want stock.. | tsmith2
09/5/2008 09:01 | 14,000 shares sold so far - doesn't look like people are overwhelmed with the offer. If we have to lose our little company let's at least hope a decent bidding war now ensues ..... | bungler
09/5/2008 08:59 | Guys this is just a sound-out offer plenty more upside in my opinion.Trust Muddie to go on hols when the action begins.Anyway those of us who thought a bid was coming are vindicated. | battlebus
09/5/2008 08:59 | did tell you so, I am hoping that its done before June as I am expecting some corp action at Braemar Group too (DYOR). Tchenguiz's acquired a sizeable stake a week or so ago! tsmith2 - 29 Apr'08 - 16:30 - 1363 of 1419 edit this is about to end up on the end of a bid LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Flomerics Group PLC, the simulation software company, said Mentor Graphics Corp has confirmed in a Stock Exchange filing that it holds a 25.77 pct stake in the company. Now reportedly over 30%! | tsmith2
09/5/2008 08:55 | "that will do me" hmmm not the kind of post from a so called holder that was spouting 140-150p bid on this thread a while back. If you were really holding crookney you would be fuming at this low bid !!! | 8trader
09/5/2008 08:51 | :-) CR | cockneyrebel
09/5/2008 08:50 | board rehjects - interest from a number of parties, bidding war 120-130p! | tsmith2
09/5/2008 08:49 | Doesn't say it's been recommended by the board so might be more in it yet mudbath - just hold I reckon - 104p minimum now. CR | cockneyrebel
09/5/2008 08:46 | 104p bid, That will do me. Nice return in a short space of time in this market. CR | cockneyrebel
09/5/2008 08:42 | Shame you sold out too crookney ! What happened to all those fancy prices you were naming ! | 8trader
09/5/2008 08:40 | 104p offer. lol | 8trader
08/5/2008 09:47 | XD date has passed without the usual correction for the dividend payment. This is completely on hold till we know what Mentor are up to. | psolomons
07/5/2008 12:14 | Yes intersting, online limits with idealing are currently a maximum of 500 to buy, BUT 10000 to sell, kinda tells its own story dunnit (o8 | arty
07/5/2008 09:41 | cannot buy even 1000 online thro TDW | littlemadam
07/5/2008 09:12 | nigelsom & techmark, Cheers for the XD info. Marked up on no trades....I reckon Mentor have been on the phone again... | tonyx
07/5/2008 09:10 | anyone looked at recent Mentor announcements? They have just secured at extra $20m of credit/loans (sorry cannot recall extact info). Any meaning? IMHO a knock-out bid is likely, above 104p. What share price would a bid of £25m give? If Ment intend firing a fist shot that would seem about right, otherwise they would go for something like a £30m take-it-or-leave-it offer. Knowing the Yanks the second is more likely. | littlemadam
07/5/2008 08:23 | tonyx, The dividend is paid to shareholders on the register on the 9th May, but it takes 2 days to get on the register, hence the shares went XD today. Regards | techmark |
