07/7/2008 12:36 | As mentioned before I cannot see Talisman getting involved here, they have one of the biggest Gas finds ever in Quebec which they have a massive slice of, politically safe, and potentially 100TCF, why bother with this? The Russians are a possibility, however the Billion odd in finance that's needed here cannot be secured against the Oil/gas as FCP don't own it. The only solution I can see in the near term is if the Algerian Government take the debt on,or Guarantee it especially in this credit climate, whether that is legally possible I don't know, however the in ground assets must have doubled in value in the last year, and this close to production,(2 odd years) looks a good bet to me. | jonno1 | |
