Whoppy, it doesn't mean the 3D is right though, does it?
I remain hopeful, or I wouldn't be here at all.
But nothing is certain until we are told in an RNS.
I think that there have obviously been many problems with this drill.
I don't think they are all down to equipment failure either.
As efagie says, proving hydrocarbons under a seal is the most important thing for Humpback. That could be why they are still drilling, IMHO.

As cashandcard says, even an oil find at this point may not boost the share price much.
The obvious complexity of drilling there aligned with the present POO won't tempt many just now.

We stand a better chance of a rise once Isobel is redrilled and the CPR for Zebedee comes out.

As piston said, there is monet waiting to buy cheap shares. :)
All IMHO NAI.

The 3D has been extremely accurate in the SFB for hydrocarbons. Also AVO responses. They have even been able to map the seals which give amplitude conformance to structure.

Way too early to tell. I would suggest agna has taken the cautious view. Even if an oil discovery is declared, the share price will probably fall on the day due to selloff.

Beware, an oil discovery is not what it used to be.

You're right to be cautious agna, but they've not found oils in the SFB before so gives rise to suggestions that other sands WILL have oil thats likely commercial, even if this at humpback is not.

Whoppy,
Noble's 3D showed a 'prospect' at Cheeta in Cameroon.
It was a duster.

3D isn't a dead cert. IMHO.
I prefer to be cautious, myself.

Oil shows in the well won't be from an oil can. It's been generated by source rock. All dependent on seal and sands. Seal is intact. 3d shows there is a prospect.

If Humpback fails you can say goodbye to any future exploration in the SFB imo.

If Humpy proves not to be commercial I can see Noble wanting to take out FOGL for a larger slice up North especially if Izzy proves to be as good as many expect.
If the price dips on a iffy Humpback result then I think theres alot of money sitting on the sidelines waiting for the rig to head north again.

Not sure about how much FOGL would retreat.
I very much feel this is make or break in the SFB . A failure would mean , imo, the south being left alone for perhaps 10 years whilst everyone concentrates on the 'easier' and much cheaper NFB.

Oil will have to be $100again before serious money wants to play down south again.
There are some really interesting prospects and discoveries in NFB; enough to keep attention for years.

Starting to think that we are heading towards a possible merger with RKH one day

The Humpback positive that I read into how the drill has progressed is that they must think the possible/likely? reward is worth going the 'extra mile' figuratively speaking.

If they got it wrong then we will see 10p.

Must be at TD now. Hopefully a clear discovery of oil in two packages. The first one on prognosis, 200-500MMb. The deeper package much bigger if it's there. Noble have spent their entire exploration budget on this well and taken a bigger percentage. Hope they've got it right.

argentina has to now pull its socks up and go with the flow and get in line or starve its as simple as that....negotiations are already ongoing between all parties....the kitchner family mafia absolutely ruined that beautiful massive country that has huge huge resources....in fact you can fit the whole of europe inside it along with norway denmark and sweden included.

oil will most definitely rise back to 80 - 90 dollars.

soon news lads and ladies.

boystown - why evaluate a share?
We get what the market gives us - end of story.
In AIM _ that doesn't seem to depend on good or bad results - totally unpredictable.

Have your selling point planned and sell. It really is that simple. IMHO and no advice given.

Hello - can anyone give me any kind of basic valuation basis for FOGL today?

I've realised I have a sum total of 10k shares I'd sort of forgotten about (long story) and find these co.s more or less impossible to put a value on.

TIA

Thanks Thorpe.
I'm interested in Macri...he's apparently more popular than the Argentine media would have you think.
Perhaps too much of a change from the Peronistas for the general populace.
We should at least have an idea early Sunday.

Agna,
Daniel Scioli should win. Same party but not quite her son, nor quite a puppet.

Intersting chap, one arm, odd sitation with daughter born out of wedlock.
Won't get to be as popular as CFK. Makes comments about things having to evolve without actually saying she was bad for the country.

All candidates should bring a more sensible approach to debt restructure but ultimately Argentinian's are not served at all well by their political class. Sadly for them not much will change IMO.

None of this effects the FIs since they are British and they run their own government...which serves them very well.

Meanwhile Venezuala failing in tehir bid to get OPEC to turn of the taps. US shale is stalling but China's rate cut today indicative of lagging market may mean oil price closer to $40 and not $50 prevails for a little while at least.

this is great news it seems that the old bag is having to leave " at last the end of tyranny in argentina [she has to stand down in december.

this means a much more positive way forward and only adds weight to my earlier posting regarding new dealings with china...therfore argentina when oil flows from the falklands will be buying along with china from england.

buisness is buisness as usual.

share price should constantly rise from here onwards.

big buys coming in also i notice.

goodbye christina it was nice watching you trying to act and be like eva peron however you are way to ugly you wrinkly old plastic face.

good riddance you have truly been a thorn not only in in falkland shareholders sides but of your own starving people.

hell is where you truly belong along with all the rest of the political tyrrants and their puppet masters.

its up up and away from here on....
