des were £5+ but there were only 50 million shares in 1998 today there are over 260 million so your not far off the mark. Value of company today is around the same or certainly was at the recent £1.08 peak. Saying that oil price is 5 times what it was then so perhaps its still reasonably priced. Then again Oil price has trippled since BPC signed up the Behamas gov in 2005 for a lease which at that time was essentially worthless and now, suddenly, has acquired a value of £31 million> as AMBRIAN state on their website "creating value in the resource sector". Not sure why they think its worth that much on the back of the tripled oil price and $2.4 million of seismic evaluation. Suppose its something related to there contacts in the oil industry and the likelhood that at some point they will secure a farm-in based on hudds connections.

I don't know but suspect that the DES cap today is not much different to what it was in 1998 before the price collapsed on the back of oil indications only. ie unless there is a huge find the share price will drop like a stone. Too much of a gamble for me this time round. Rate the North Basin, where the big boys drilled, because of its more hospitable environment over the FOGL areas. I was very lucky 10 years ago with GRWA,WTE and DES !

I think those in the know were aware there was no gold in the Falklands but as FOGL was floating at about the same time, I seem to recall, they thought they could also take some punters money on Fgml.I must confess I did buy FGML but sold it for a small loss as I got cold feet.

My biggest loss was taking up shares in an IPO recommended by a Broker, and then adding later ! I was stupid enough not to realise that if Joe Public ever gets a look in at a small company, it means the company can't get funds elsewhere because it hasn't got a cat's chance in hell of ever coming good. Silly me.

If this rehashed FGML does manage to get a substantial partner, i think a rumour will be put out to push it up a bit, then I will sell, as I bought at 4.5p.

As you say, AIM is for crooks in suits. At least in the USA they often get sent to prison. Here they get a gong.

The other thing to remember corrientes is that a lot of people bought fgml when it first floated thinking that there "would be a run" and it too had a value of £31 million ish. What happened was that they never had a run and dropped preciptiously! As far as I am concerned only the story has changed the game remains the same

Yep and its done wonders for the share price lol.
One sale of £2ks worth and the price crumbles.
Obviously, heavy retail and institutional support,
I doubt whether this will be anywhere near worth
31 million when it floats as BPC. Fair value, at the
moment given all the variables - £10-15 million max
or 1.25-2p

No use saying this at the nadir when things were already bad, and what did you expect anyway. The time to criticise was at the zenith.I suspect it's not all doom and gloom however with a change of direction The share price has actually managed to go up a tad today in this scared and fearful market that seems to be indicating armageddon directly ahead.

Mind you I can see armageddon for this country if there isn't a cataclysmic change in the way it conducts itself. Still all these gold metals - that'll convince the peons that we're the greatest - the peons being New Labour.

There's the answer then £31.5M..I think this is a very good deal for FGML holders considering we had nothing left.

BPC was incorporated in Jersey on 9 August 2007 as a holding company. It has
invested in an offshore oil exploration programme covering approximately
15,676 km2 (3.874 million acres) in the territorial waters and maritime

Here's the BPC website

Does this company have a market cap? Can't find it listed anywhere.

We currently have 78,250,000 FGML shares in issue this will increase approx 10 fold after the reverse takeover. I guess they will then consolidate 1 for 10 back down to 78 million shares after admission and we will have a share price of 4p.

But what's BPC worth at the moment? £3M?
