07/4/2010 09:29 | Hi, my friend bought these a few days before they went ex-dividend. Is the dividend 4p per share on these? Is it due to be paid out in May? So my question is - does she have to hold the shares until May or can she sell them anytime before hand? TIA | 2banker
07/4/2010 08:59 | Got my bet wrong said in post 144 it would take 30 days to get back to pre ex divi 65p, actual was 15 days. With huge divi and huge discount to NAV, this is still a no brainer ????? Maybe fund managers shun this as its "one of their own " / a competitor | betman
06/4/2010 21:38 | Topvest. It gets even better when you look into it in more detail! Its trading at a discount to its peers such as Schroders and Aberdeen Asset Management, the Outflow of Institutional funds has been reversed and even better has a Net Asset Value of around 120p. Why has the share price of FCAM suffered recently? Any info. would be most helpful. I have a feeling it has something to do with over 55% of the assets under management being in the denomination of Euros and what with the recent debt crisis in Greece playing heavy on the euro etc etc A Benjamin Graham Value Investment if I have ever seen one! | the jackel
06/4/2010 19:16 | Yes, it's an absolute bargain. That's why shareholders forced a u-turn on their latest acquisition, until they get the share price up. | topvest
06/4/2010 18:51 | Wow can't believe what an excellent investment opportunity this is! The share price is about half the net Asset value! Wish I had spotted this earlier will start building a holding up tomorrow. | the jackel
01/4/2010 17:17 | Nice and steady rise , nothing spectacular , this will do for me . 70 will do me in the short term and I think it will move beyond as news filters through about increased buying of funds. | tommy51
01/4/2010 15:25 | At last the yanks did something right and caused the Dow to rise on the last day of our financial year! Avoided the horrible fall that we often see at this time of year. | evox
30/3/2010 16:27 | We have a long way to go yet.!Target will be between 75p and 85p I reckon. At Barclays stockbrokers, the brokers recommandations were 4 strong Buys and 3 buys ,no sellers (a couple of days ago).I imagine that with Cannacord it makes 4 buys as well? Let`s hope we keep going steadely up. P | pirgatto
30/3/2010 15:46 | I'm right behind you betman but looking for a quicker exit! Looking strong today despite the FTSE dip. | evox
30/3/2010 14:39 | The plan is working so far, dividend of 4p snaffled and we have recovered half of the share price loss so far. On target to beat my 30 day timescale I guess this is only so easy as share prices have been strong. Would it be the same in a double dip decline ?? Did Canacord put any timescale on their 79p. They rarely do, which is meaningless, if they reach 70p in 100 years I wont be rejoycing | betman
30/3/2010 13:45 | Enami - Great ! Thanks for that . P | pirgatto
30/3/2010 13:20 | F&C Asset Management raised to buy from hold at Canaccord, target price stays 79p. | enami
27/3/2010 17:32 | Bit of a mess, the aborted acquisition. However, with the current share price and bond prices where they are a share and bond buy back policy would be more productive. | topvest
26/3/2010 16:15 | I think it`s good.Lots of large trades are Buys today. P | pirgatto
26/3/2010 09:44 | Just read a headline that the takeover of C-Quadrat has been called off I know the stock has been under a cloud, partly due to this acquisition but it read to me like a fair deal. Not sure how this will be taken; relief rally or poor mgmt execution? | barkjon23
23/3/2010 20:13 | lab - sit back and enjoy the div payments. the share price will take care of itself over time. personally i invested here primarily for the div so any share price appreciation is a bonus. just wish i'd had the balls for a further top up when it hit the low 50's recently. don't you just love hindsight ;o) | speedsgh
23/3/2010 17:22 | bought 23k today - at this price it would be rude not to. | deadly
23/3/2010 17:19 | lab305 - from prelim results rns on 10/3/10... "After considering the results for the year, the challenging market conditions and the exceptional corporate uncertainty which impacted them, as well as the improving outlook for the business, the Board is recommending an unchanged final dividend of 4.0 pence per share, payable on 7 May 2010 to shareholders on the register at 26 March 2010." The register date (26 March) is not the same as the ex-div date which is actually 24 March. taken from digital look website... FCAM Dividends Latest Previous Final Interim Ex-Div 24-Mar-10 30-Sep-09 Paid 07-May-10 23-Oct-09 Amount 4.00p 2.00p so one has to be holding shares as of close of play this evening in order to qualify for the final div payment on 7 May. | speedsgh
23/3/2010 17:10 | lab305, think you'll find it's xd tommorrow, Wednesday, 2 working days before record date, Friday 26th. | martincc
23/3/2010 17:05 | I thought xd was Friday hence my reference to it in the above post.I just checked and it is payable to those on the register on the 26th. Still two more days to buy folks! So the dividend is payable on the 7th May, 6 weeks from Friday. If the dividend was to stay the same in future, you would earn 10p per share in 58 weeks. That's 9.2857p per year or 14.28% per year. I bought another 50k shares today and I see that the buys to sells are almost 3 to 1, yesterday almost 2 to 1. If this buying pressure continues the price must go up, and what on paper looks an excellent yield now will look even better after Friday. | lab305
23/3/2010 15:39 | well we are all in agreement, a no brainer. Lets open a book on how long to recover back to 65p. I have my bet at 30 days | betman
23/3/2010 13:49 | I agree pirgatto, 65p to buy with brokers target price between 79p and 100p Int divi 2p, final dividend held at 4p and about to go xd tomorrow. Yield is 6p p/a(9.2%) or 10p(15.3%) in 13 months. I've added more today | martincc
23/3/2010 13:37 | Well I am baffled. Barclay`s Stockbrokers,Analist 4 Strong buy 3 Buy 5 neutral. NO Sellers 4p div tomorrow and yet the share price is sad. Mind you somebody thinks it`s good , a BUY of 76,407 shares at 65.10 was placed around 1pm I agree with you ,and will take the div, and stay put. P | pirgatto |
