23/3/2010 09:07 | betman I think the same as you and have bought a lot of these at 65p for the dividend. Last year they lost 50 million and this year made 18 million. Even if that profit does not cover the dividend it is still a turnaround of nearly 70 million. My reasoning is that historically the normal price of these is much higher and hopefully things are much more stable now. Therefore if normal market conditions continue then this share will continue back towards it's normal values. Add to this the improving performance of the investments for it's customers and it should indeed be a no brainer. The problem is that when we rarely come across a stock like this we doubt our own judgement as the price is too good to be true. Well I have seen it before with Barc and Kaz and bought both heavily and I was right. Both were sold well below where they are now but I do not mind as they achieved more than I expected. It is now the turn of the second liners. This and standard life are typical, both excellent dividends with good prospects at crazy prices. Buy the stock, take the fall on friday and then wait. Interest rates are going nowhere in the next 2 years and the longer stability remains the more joe public will be tempted into high yielding shares such as this. | lab305
22/3/2010 16:33 | yes I must admit to being puzzled about and it could be a no brainer. Is there something in the past that is putting investors off? | solarno lopez
22/3/2010 16:28 | hi solarno I agree with you but if the 9%+ yield is safe and the share price doesnt collapse this is a no brainer, and my experience is they dont usually exist. Surely the divi isnt being earned so its coming from assets and hence the family silver is being sold to fund the divi | betman
22/3/2010 16:01 | Betman they will only pay the dividend if they are very sure of the future or want to fend off a bid ! | solarno lopez
22/3/2010 11:50 | Hi pirgatto, the fact that yours was the only reply maybe the answer, no-one is looking / bothered by this share. I am so tempted to hoover up soem more, take the divi this week and hope(??) that the 4p is recovered back on the share price. That maybe the answer, gain 4p income but lose 4p on capital | betman
16/3/2010 09:15 | I have been wandering about that. The only thing i can think of is their intention of the possible acquisition ? The share price when they first announced it plummeted from 77p to around 50p. However i am deep into FCAM and I intent to stay put.Analysts general concensus at Barclay`s stockbrokers for FCAM are - 4 Strong Buys - 1 Buy - No Sellers. It seems ok to me,but what do i know. 16/3/2010 08:38 | Yield of 9.2%, usually when a divi is anominously high its for a good reason eg divi about to be cut or share price is too low. Final divi has been maintianed so what am I missing ? Why snt eevryone buying this for a ridiculously high yield ? | betman

14/3/2010 14:34 | This is still very cheap versus net asset value, yields close to 10% and looks after £100bn of assets. A rare opportunity. Why is it so cheap? Lack of growth and simply out of favour. Best time to buy. | topvest
14/3/2010 13:11 | pirgatto, shares rarely go up aand down in a dead sraight line, so expect to see some bumps on the way ....up. | tommy51
12/3/2010 16:12 | I am very surprised it seems to have stopped ticking up ??? 4p div, in just over a week? 6.6% on today`s price,am I right?/ well I want that! P | pirgatto
12/3/2010 11:21 | This share is a screaming buy even at 83p. Many of the older savers now are finding it increasingly difficult to get anything over 3%. Less than a year ago I managed 5% on two accounts . As these saving bonds mature shares such as this will become more attractive to investors. Added to this is the much better performance of F and C's investment team attracting net inflows of money. I am sure that those £2 days of not so long ago will be revisited within 3 years, and even then they would still be paying 3%! | lab305
12/3/2010 10:57 | 10 Mar 10 - Numis , reiteration , BUY- Price target 83p. Well i am looking forward to the div 4p on 24th March,excellent!! P | pirgatto
10/3/2010 13:03 | Expect this to be ticking up nicely in the next few days if only for 4p /6% divi, assuming that this hasn't been factored in by buyers in alst week or so. | tommy51

08/3/2010 21:45 | This seems to have rebounded well. Seem to have topped-up at the right time - hopefully! Results soon, so will find out. | topvest
04/3/2010 16:21 | spee, thank you.I suppose we shall know about the div,10 of March?? I think it will be reduced, but really hope not. P | pirgatto
04/3/2010 15:35 | pirgatto - because it was heavily oversold. if final div is maintained at 4p/share as per last 2yrs, it is currently yielding over 10% on a full year basis. Last week you were able to pick the shares up for just under 11% yield. Something has to give - either the div will be reduced and the share price weakness is reflecting this, or the div will be maintained and the share price will rise to reflect this. it is probably the uncertainty thathas caused the recent weakness. shares go ex-div in april. | speedsgh
04/3/2010 14:26 | does anybody know why the sudden rise?? Many thanks. p | pirgatto
