Personally I'd hold off news until after bk holiday now.

Having said that it seems nothing shifts this in any case.

richscotsman....let`s hope ENK is almost ready for take off too!

Just hope you filled up your other fridge....with some of the "amber nectar"....as very tempted to pop over....lol.

Have a good one everyone.

Posting this....as it may have been overlooked....c/o drunken sailor on iii thread....dated 1st May 2012:

I got this from Mark Hanlon

"We should be in a position to announce what we are doing with Devoli in the next few weeks. Needless to say it has no discernable value for us and we are seeking to exit that investment. Future projects are likely to be in the Philippines, Indonesia or other areas with similar tropical laterite geology."

Does point to a way forward....regarding "new" projects....only utilising Atmospheric Tank Leaching....DYOR.

blimey - that is old - it predates my investment here - thanks for sharing...

The sun is shining, I have a fridge full of steak for the BBQ and a flying lesson planned for the morning! Life is pretty awesome and when the share price catches up it is going to get a whole lot better.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Thought this little reminder....might perhaps keep the smiles on your faces....just a little bit longer....lol.

A mining "blast from past"....for the future maybe:

One thing seemingly overlooked....in the China Presentation....was a reference to further "value added" opportunities....at Acoje.

On page 18/19....is this:

Production of NiO pellets reviewed in BFS

Did a bit of digging....and came across this....from the Vale 1Q12 report:

The tests conducted at VNC through
integrated refinery operations were
successful and we were able to produce
1,100 t of nickel oxide. An important byproduct
was the knowledge provided by
this experience, which will be very useful
to further improve the production process.

Despite the risks ahead of us, the
production of nickel oxide at VNC is a
major achievement, to the extent that it is
an important step towards the operation of
a large nickel limonite lateritic project for
the first time in the industry.

Note the link....between the nickel oxide....and their nickel laterite project.

It appears that nickel oxide pellet usage....is increasing in China....see this reference paper:

Perhaps NiO pellet production therefore....(which Vale have identified too!)....could potentially be....another valuable contributing...."string to ENK`s bow"....further down the line at Acoje....aligned with policies....of the production of "value added" products....within national borders.

A read of the BFS later....should hopefully reveal more....DYOR.

UPDATE: Rio Tinto Says China's Iron Ore Demand Steady, GDP To Grow 8%
Share this article PrintAlert
Rio Tinto (NYSE:RIO)
Intraday Stock Chart
Today : Thursday 24 May 2012
Chinese iron ore demand remains steady, with no signs of a slowdown, Rio Tinto PLC's (RIO) iron ore chief executive said Thursday as he reaffirmed the mining giant's commitment to raising its output in Western Australia's Pilbara region by 50% in the next three years.
Concerns of slowing demand for iron ore in China, the world's largest consumer of the key steel-making ingredient, have rattled the markets in recent weeks, particularly after reports some commodity trading houses there have begun to defer shipments, holding out for lower prices amid high port inventories.
"It is an area of much contention," Sam Walsh said at a Credit Suisse Asia Society function in Sydney, referring to demand levels and sentiment in China.
"But in the short term our view is 'steady as she goes'. In the long term, as China continues its urbanization...steel is going to be very important," he said.
Walsh said the miner still expects the world's second largest economy to grow 8% this year. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has pegged the government's annual growth target at 7.5%.
Recent comments from Jiabao, however, mark a decisive shift in rhetoric toward stimulating growth, and last week the central bank lowered its reserve requirement ratio which freed up around CNY400 billion of funds that can be loaned out by the banking system.
While there have been some reports of delayed shipments, major Chinese steel-makers, who consume 60% of the world's iron ore, haven't cancelled any shipments yet, traders said earlier this week.
"We're not physically seeing it on the ground," Walsh added, referring to a slowdown in demand.
Demand from other developing countries in the region, like Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand, will also be important for sustaining iron ore demand growth in the longer term, Walsh said.
"We see Australia is uniquely placed with the product that we offer and the proximity" to Asia, he added.
Walsh said Rio Tinto is on track to lift its nameplate capacity in Australia's Pilbara region, its largest source of iron ore, to 283 million tons a year by 2013 and 353 million tons by the first half of 2016 from 230 million tons currently.

Great Agenda....and one very interesting reason....it seems....for ENK to be "high profile"....at this juncture:

Note under NICKEL OUTLOOK....at 9.50am....under....The outlook for Nickel....specifically....point number 3:

* Demand for nickel from both the stainless and non-stainless sectors over the next five years

* Role of Chinese nickel pig iron in supply

* Timing of production from new laterite projects remains a key factor

It appears for once....there`s a reasonable chance....that ENK could a company...."in the right place....at the right time"....DYOR.

Even announced as a RNS this morning:

Presentation interesting....particularly timescales....including build up to max output....with Stage 2 after 7 years now.

It states they`ve already started the amended ECC process....but the most positive thing for this investor....is that it states on Page 16/19....that there is no need for a new "tailings" facility....as they will using filter press....and initially be utilising permitted HL spent ore facility....and later backfilling of mine....one of the big hurdles removed IMHO....to getting the amended ECC.

Mine construction start....looks to be mid 2013 now....with first production from Acoje....Springish 2014.

Figures regarding contained Ni at Zambales....state that Zambales will contribute around 280,000ish m tonnes of contained Ni....to overall resources....let`s hope the expected JORC announcement confirms that at least.

Overall it`s always good to get further information....but the Presentation itself....does suggest....that an official off-take partner....has yet to be found.

Roll on....the ZCMC JORC release....DYOR.

frogkid....not until now....it seems.

But they are trying hard.

Note the complete absence....on their website....of the tiniest mention of the heap leach process....although remember what Mr Gregory said....in the Interview last week....that heap leaching is...."suitable in Turkey".

So guess what?....look what`s said in the General Manager`s Statement....on the Caldag Nikel website:

We wish to bring Caldag project in production with the most suitable processing method and the highest productivity. While walking through this target, we take the mining principles as our guidance and our economic benefits would be the benefit to our country.

See that word "suitable" again?.....i.e. "suitable processing method"....and again note....the complete absence in the Photo Gallery section....of any written description....as to the images shown....again playing down the heap leach process....while in reality....the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA)....passed off in 2006....and mentioned specifically....in the Environment statement:

Caldag Nikel, has been granted the EIA positive certificate in 19 January 2006 and independent international consultants have reviewed the project to identify that the mine will be operating and rehabilitated according to Equator Principles. Rehabilitation will start in parallel with the mining operations and all disturbed areas will be rehabilitated.

....was for the heap leach process.

Fingers crossed then....that Caldag Nikel....at some time....do get that elusive forestry permit....because as posted repeatedly....ENK could end up....getting a sizeable chunk of another important project....(or it`s equivalent in monies)....through agreeing a heap leach "technology transfer" deal with Caldag Nikel....without having to spend....a single penny more!

As Turkey`s economy slows down....talk there....will inevitably turn to buzz words....like "value added" products within borders....hence the chances of obtaining the Caldag forestry permit....will probably increase....given the additional dimension....of employment opportunities at the mine.

This would all be a real bonus....for long suffering ENK investors....considering the effort and investment put into Caldag....over many frustrating years.

But don`t watch this space....just keep looking out....for Caldag Nikel forestry permit developments....on their website....DYOR.
