True in general, since GDP is probably growing at somewhere between 5-10% - just the specific effect of down-grading national debt should be to devalue the currency, I think.

Do any of the rating agencies actually have the credibility to effect the price of anything after their total failure to risk the CDOs, et al, that has caused the recent financial turmoil?

My expectation would be that costs will rise compared to the US$. It would appear logical to assume that all resource-rich economies will rise in the current inflationary environment.

Hi benamara
Also been a holder for a while.
I was very encouraged by the production projections and with both copper and gold at good prices initial earnings look extremely positive.
I thought that the BFS read very well even if MDM Ferroman turned out to be such a disaster. The recent high profile given to the project by the Presidential visit also appeared to help with the de-risking.

Tony Williams certainly seems to get around a bit! I have ended up holding a number of stocks with which he has an involvement.

All the best

Hi
I have held these from 98CAD$ cents and the A warrants from CAD38$ cents, now C$1.75 and C$0.89 respectively. Prefer to purchase dual listed TSE stocks on the TSE exchange, no MM's. Glad to find a bulletin board. It's been a long wait, but the rerating is happening. I was very impressed with the presentation webcast in Denver, The MD comes accross as a no nonsense Welsh geologist, encouraged me to buy some more. The new resourse figures due in November should show a healthy upgrade. All in my Opinion.

Hi Chip :-) Well, whatever - it's nice to have one of these 'doing what it's meant to do' in terms of into-production rerating. Perhaps the others of the kind will learn to get the hang of it! I must say, although some don't like the volatility at times, I have favoured stocks with TSX listings over the past couple of years.

Hi there Simon!

I dare not offer any observations from my model in case I put the 'hex' on it. But I remain quietly confident :-)

Finally getting a result here :-)

Good to see the lack of posts on such an 'up' day.
Much more to come (IMO) once they can start the production rolling.

Don't know about taxes. But re Royalties, this is from the website (Licences):

"Licences and Permits

The Republic of Kazakhstan has granted JSCV two exploration, development and mining licences. Both licences permit JSCV to explore, develop, mine, extract, process and sell precious and base metals found in the licence areas.

Licence MG666 covers 326ha which includes all the ore zones scheduled to be mined and was issued on 28 August 1995 and is valid for 25 years. Within this licence area permits for the design and construction stages of developing an open-pit mine and processing plant producing gold dore and gold-copper concentrate have been approved by the State;

Environmental permits
OVOS (Kazakh EIA), approved by Environmental and Ecology Ministry, ROK in February 2005 EIA in accordance with Equator Principles which constitutes an international standard of approval

Land Allotment permit, approved by Kustanai Oblast Land Committee, valid for LOM.

Technical Project ('Expertiza') permit, approved by State Construction Expertise.

Construction permit approved by State Architectural Committee on behalf of Industry and Trade Ministry, ROK

Licence MG866 covers a 220kmĀ² area surrounding (not including) licence area MG666. It was issued on May 30, 1996 and has been extended until May 30, 2006 during which time JSCV is required to spend an additional US$1 million (over and above the original and initial extension expenditure requirements).

The SSUC provides that gold and copper production from the Varvarinskoye Project will be subject to royalties of i) in the case of gold, a gross royalty of 1.2% of the value of gold produced from the Project based on the average monthly spot price of gold on the London Metals Exchange and ii) in the case of copper, a net smelter return royalty of 1% based on the average monthly sales proceeds of copper".

Thus the royalty works out to some US$8.76 per ounce with gold at $730 at the moment

The MG866 Licence is overdue for renewal by the looks of it if EM is to continue to explore outside the main ore body.

New presentation (from Denver conference). I like the peer comparisons!

I have been trying to find out what Royalty & Taxes will apply to the project, but have drawn a blank. Does anyone have accurate figures?

I found nothing in the BFS to help.
