23/2/2009 08:24 | roll on 28th!! | shareowner
22/2/2009 19:15 | Expect a significant announcement from the company on or before 28th February 2009 - this is the date the company announced itsbanking agreement runs out- as identified in its 29th December press release. Will Basil be going home like dogsbody has suggested? Whatever happens we will know soon what the future is for this company and or our investments.....the waiting is almost over. | miikke
22/2/2009 15:35 | I do believe Basil will return to his original home. He may even join Bagpuss etc. After all they have been friends for years. | dogsbody
22/2/2009 13:43 | If the company goes under the rights to Postman Pat and others simply return to the original owner - as I understand things. DYOR. Either way the investing production company will not lose out. Only long standing investors stand to lose out with this company as I see it. | miikke
20/2/2009 15:57 | I have no idea, hopefully no inside info and just desperate for cash in these times? | joeblogg1000
20/2/2009 15:56 | Why are Capitol selling if these are worth......... Any offers! | dogsbody
20/2/2009 15:52 | I hope either the bidders give a decent price or the banks re-organise the loan as the parts must be worthe far more and it is only Capital's selling which has brought us to this low!!! | joeblogg1000
20/2/2009 15:48 | rochford6's post is very encouraging. Premier Stage Productions would have chosen to stage a Postman Pat production because he's obviously such a popular character AND because they felt assured that ER will still be around in the near (and hopefully longer) future. The last thing they'd want is the rights holder going bust when they've invested in producing a show and putting it on the road. So take heart folks! | hotips
20/2/2009 13:38 | Looks ready for suspension. 2,470000 on the offer with 840k on the bid. Tonight or First thing Monday morning ? | dogsbody
20/2/2009 11:00 | Postman Pat takes to the stageSamantha Loveday Today, 10:20am Be first to comment ER signs partnership with Premier Stage Productions for new SDS live show in 2010. The new-look Postman Pat is heading out on tour for a new live show in 2010, following an agreement between Entertainment Rights and Premier Stage Productions. The show - based on Postman Pat Special Delivery Service - will feature characters from the TV series and is set to play at over 45 theatres throughout the UK from spring 2010. "Children can expect to see some exciting new developments in the Postman Pat SDS live theatre show that deliver upon the brand new SDS series," said Mat Way, global head of live entertainment at ER. "The show will continue to maintain a strong connection with the characters and settings that we all know and love, although the new production will also feature the new elements that now appear in the SDS TV series." Jason Francis, director of Premier Productions, added: "We are delighted that Entertainment Rights has chosen Premier to exclusively develop Postman Pat SDS for the stage. The brand new series is pulling in big audiences and, with over 25 years of history behind him and a great history of live UK theatre, Postman Pat is a national institution who appeals to many generations. "He is likely to be the hottest ticket in town." | rochford6
20/2/2009 09:49 | Deadline fast approaching: We will soon know the direction for this company. We might see an offer or two - pity the board didn't put previous offers to us years ago. If no offer then the banks may well protect the company and provide the necessary capital.....or a possible rights issue. Whatever is eventually decided we should all know fairly soon. | miikke
17/2/2009 10:18 | I agree. This waiting is very frustrating. | hotips
17/2/2009 09:11 | Postman Pat awaits delivery Posted By: Between the Lines at Feb 17, 2009 at 07:33:05 [General] Posted in: Business , Between the Lines Tags:View More Bob the Builder, Cookie Jar, Entertainment Rights, Hit Entertainment, postman pat, Spectrum Equity How long will it be before the future of Postman Pat owner Entertainment Rights is decided? Is it that contemplating its fate is too difficult or are the bids the problem? We hear at least three bids are being considered seriously. These are from Canada's Cookie Jar Entertainment, Bob the Builder owner Hit Enterntainment and Spectrum Equity. The industry is counting on Mr Fixit Bob to come to Pat's rescue. | rochford6
15/2/2009 08:01 | By Amanda Andrews Last Updated: 10:03PM GMT 14 Feb 2009 The private equity group is already in the final round of the auction for Postman Pat-owner Entertainment Rights, but it is eyeing more significant growth opportunities including a merger with Canada's Cookie Jar Entertainment. It is understood that Hit chief executive Jeff Dunn has been tasked with making acquisitions by the end of 2009. Mr Dunn, who was previously chief operating officer at Nickelodeon Networks, joined Hit last March with a brief to expand the group's presence in the US. Consolidation in the children's intellectual property market has been expected for a number of years, but it has taken longer than anticipated. Entertainment Rights has bought Lassie-owner Classic Media, while Cookie Jar acquired DIC Entertainment last year, but expected consolidation in the UK market has been slow to materialise. It is understood that Apax, which acquired Hit in 2005 for £489.4m, seeks to expand the business before an eventual sale or float. Hit's revenues stood at £148m in 2004, just before the Apax acquisition. That fell to £131m in 2007, according to reports. | rochford6
11/2/2009 16:39 | Something that i did not contemplate until now is that ERT will survive as an independent company which is fine by me - I have them in my portfolio as nil value but with the timing of Bransgrove's departure I think the likely scenario is that with six interested parties hovering, a sale of some titles plus renegotiation of bank loans is more on the cards. It's a mystery in these times when cash is king/captial ratios under pressure the bank loaned a further 13ml to a company they are exposed to upwards 130ml already. If i was Sir Robin, I would have let Rod give the bad news before he departed seeing as he was responsible for this mess. Either way, I've already taken the hit in my own mind so anything else is a bonus. | wodahsnoom
11/2/2009 13:06 | Someone has gone LONG on this stock. Take over BID coming up. | very quick
10/2/2009 18:22 | This must bring in some much needed cash 3-2-1 Penguins! Extends Franchise By Kristin Brzoznowski Published: February 10, 2009 LONDON: Entertainment Rights has expanded its partnership with 3DBA to develop 3-2-1 Penguins! as a franchise for 4-D theater attractions worldwide. Deals are due to be concluded with partners across Southeast Asia and the Middle East in the near future. The 4-D film experience places an audience in a cinematic environment with 3-D glasses and a host of integrated effects, including movement, vibration, water effects and speakers. Lighting effects also enhance the experience. 3DBA will be offering partners original and newly created content for 3-2-1 Penguins! to be used as short-form content for the 4-D multi-sensory cinematic experience. 3-2-1 Penguins! follows the galactic adventures of two young kids and four space-traveling penguins dedicated to responding to distress calls from across the galaxy and learning important life lessons and values along the way. Mat Way, the global head of live entertainment for Entertainment Rights, commented: "We are delighted to be extending our partnership with 3DBA to include a 3-2-1 Penguins! 4-D film attraction, particularly as their previous creative executions in this format have been of such high quality. There is a lot of comedy in 3-2-1 Penguins! and with the strong space element in the series, we have a great platform for a fantastic, immersive family attraction that will appeal to theme parks and FECs worldwide." Roger Houben, the president of 3DBA, added: "We are very excited to be developing a 4-D film attraction for 3-2-1 Penguins! We anticipate building on the space element which is such a perfect theme for this format, and delivering an engaging and humorous experience for all the family. We are confident there will be additional applications for this property too." | rochford6
09/2/2009 14:56 | Maybe we will see some progress now...????? | shareowner
09/2/2009 08:30 | Great news! At long long long last that useless ego-maniac Bransgrove has been thrown out. The City tired of this man years ago, so let's hope this new chairman can bring some proper leadership skills to this company because it sure needs them right now. Incidentally, reading Bransgrove's statement, he still can't get his facts right. He did not found the company as he states - it was going for many years before he came along. He can't even get that right so no wonder he led it headlong into such a mess. | hotips
05/2/2009 15:54 | rich, the price i am being offered for mine has gone up not down, and they do seem to keep getting new products. I still live in hope of at least getting my money back. | mrdonofrio
05/2/2009 14:42 | Looks like the writing is on the wall going by todays price drop. Maybe all the snow has stopped Postman pat making all his deliveries | rich2006
03/2/2009 11:48 | They have a lot of debt don't they, I just cannot see what will reduce the debt levels. | powwow
28/1/2009 13:55 | They could also sell off part of the business, Maybe Big Idea, that would give ert cash to reduce debt and move forward | rochford6
28/1/2009 12:59 | the way the share price drops and rises on a daily basis is hardly anything at these levels...i do think offer will be made around the 2p mark or no offer at all.... doubt offer will be made at the current SP (just my opinion...) | viku111 |
