18/12/2008 11:23 | There are some big holders, they can't be too happy and what about the takeover earlier in the year, will they be back at this silly price + debt? | joeblogg1000
18/12/2008 11:15 | I hope you are right hot tips because at this price I can't lose much but if they trade through this, it could be a wise, albeit long term investment. I have been in this co. for years with a very small holding, already recouped my initial investment with profit so lets hope they pull through. Saying that, do you have the local gambling anonymous number:-) | mikey14
18/12/2008 08:43 | The assets are largely third-party IP rights which will revert to the original owners if the company goes into administration, so it makes sence for the bank to keep supporting he company and let it trade out of this problem. It makes no sence to let the company fold because the rights will desperse. | hotips
17/12/2008 22:34 | INteresting was thinking the same | toptrump
17/12/2008 18:45 | > Wait til administration and pick it up cheap I think all the debt is to HBOS and secured against all the companys assets. The strange thing is that HBOS extended the debt. They'd have had enough trouble recouping the debt via an asset sale without adding another 13m. The share price disagrees with me (which probably makes me wrong) but HBOS must at least see a chance of some way of trading out of this. Convinced by my noddy logic I bought some of these today so curious to see how it plays out. | devbod
17/12/2008 10:43 | Why take it over with the debt? Wait til administration and pick it up cheap | phillis
16/12/2008 23:01 | This spread is confusing me. A price of 0.05 and a bid and offer price of 0.460? | toptrump
16/12/2008 18:18 | Is this bust or about to go bust?........Why doesn't Trevor H take it out????? | leetholdings
16/12/2008 16:48 | Looks like someone grabbed a bargain in the end of day auction.19830 shares @ 0.05p :( | rochford6
14/12/2008 19:12 | Just read about Zavi. Apparently they owe Entertainment UK £100m for stock that has been delivered. If Zavi cannot come up with the money they will be bust. However during last years management buyout from Virgin, Richard Branson agreed to cover any debts. Right now that I've covered the background stuff, this is what I'm thinking. Zavi owe Entertainment UK money (they say with a good Christmas period and good January sales they will be able to pay a large chunk of this, and possibly Sir Rich covering the rest!). Entertainment UK owe ERT £800K therefore if the chain is paid then ERT should receive their money within the next couple of months!! Here's hoping TT | toptrump
13/12/2008 17:54 | Disagree, didn't you read the paper this week, banks are actually cash rich. It was the lending/borrowing situation that caused the upset. If they were in a dire state the bank would not lend a further £13M - and why £13M, quite a specific amount! In regards to the no. of staff laid off - not a susprise. Probably didn't require as many in the first place (its tried to act like a FTSE 100 co. for too long) now they need to dig in their heels and work hard. Like many co. when they are taken private the share price means didly squat. I had money in. TIN and was sold to vitruvian partners in a management buyout for 45p. It hadn't been that price for a long time, and they were given a 50% premium for the last 6-12 month period. RDF media has been languishing at around 65 - 70p per share and its being taken privately for 120p per share. If that happened here we are probably looking at least recouping some of our money. I think there are things in the pipeline. The £13M is to count for overheads for the forthcoming 6 months to a year. Cost cutting measures have been put in place that should see us through. Its going to take time but who knows. As for the Lone Ranger, there will be an advance payment, with co. receiving a % of royalties thereafter, so dependent at how succesful the movie, merchandise etc. are! Agree how can the lone ranger be outdated, look at the big blockbusters of recent years, all more or less remakes (Titanic!!) it all depends on the modern slant that you give them, everybody loves a shoot 'em up, and evrybody loves a hero! Just remember, a lot of influential co. and rich people have a lot of money invested (its not the time for them to lose their money). Government doesn't want businesses to go to the wall as it will increase the rate of unemployment, and worsen the economy. TT | toptrump
12/12/2008 14:09 | TopTrump What do you mean nothing has changed. post 2707 Companies are laying peeps off all over the show. Companies are going to the wall left right and centre banks are up the creek without a paddle and sooner or later have to cut their losses. We are not even at the worst point yet. come easter the picture should be alot clearer. as for the previous bid @15p I think ert would be lucky to get 1.5p now. I think the company is worth more but the market does not. The uncertainty around future earnings will be a big factor. AIMHO | rich2006
12/12/2008 13:09 | we shall see | sirshagalot
12/12/2008 09:28 | With respect, sirshagalot, rubbish! If kids want something "new," how come a tale about a nerdy schoolboy who mixes with witches and wizards became such a blockbuster? And Thomas the Tankengine is hardly cutting edge kiddies stuff either! | hotips
12/12/2008 09:06 | lone ranger is a bit old fashioned and kids want summit new | sirshagalot
11/12/2008 17:53 | Over 28 mill traded, who has picked these up, the person who possibly wants to buy the company? | joeblogg1000
11/12/2008 17:23 | basil brush says doom! doom!!! | sirshagalot
11/12/2008 14:55 | It's frustrating to see the price slip when the bank have thrown them a substantial lifeline. Like the saying goes, if you owe your bank £1k it's your problem, if you owe the bank £1m its theirs. I think HBOS will be supportive and let the management cost-cut and work out of this problem. IMHO of course...... | hotips
08/12/2008 09:25 | Well, at least they are addressing their problems, but how on earth did they ever let this company get into such a state? Bransgrove should be taken out and shot. And as for Heap - I just hope he's never allowed anywhere near a desk and a set of pencils for the rest of his pathetic life. I wouldn't be surprised if the shareholders couldn't take action against them both. Glad to see that they're giving us proper information on the situation (Woolies) so at least we know what we're facing rather than having to guess. But come on - everyone saw the Woolies demise coming so how come ER didn't? What they need to do now, apart from continuing to root out the rot, is to delve into that vast library and make sales. There are some good rights in there and ER needs to identify them and make them make money. With virtually the entire board replaced in the past year one can only hope and pray that this new lot can turn things around. At least they appear to be trying - and thank heavens that all the old rubbish has now been chucked out. | hotips
03/12/2008 16:57 | back down again 0.7p Need some positive news instead of people leaving!!! | joeblogg1000
01/12/2008 18:56 | Joe - there is not much info about re the Lone Ranger Movie, I have contacted some of the Fan Clubs,Websites etc to see if they have had any more info but nothing has turned up so far. They Still do not have a Director for the Movie and do not have anyone lined up to Play The Lone Ranger. If this is due to be released summer 2010 then i would expect some news early to mid next year.Hopefully the company will still be in existance. The DVD release is to coincide with the lone ranger 75th Anniversary. Problem is that the price is high for the collection and in the current market potential customers will be less inclined to part with money. As for the news that Nick Philips could be one of those going from Entertainment rights, I can't understand why he should be going if he is the one that has rooted out all the problems within the company.Surely he needs to stay to finish turning the company round. Would the company still be going now if he had no been brought in? 1.4p is still way below my average but i am still trying to remain positive although it is getting harder. | rochford6 |
