Agreed (see 236 above), though DB are house brokers so closer to the action so far as earnings forecasts etc. are concerned. This doesn't mean they have a clue where the share price is going, though!

0833 GMT [Dow Jones] Deutsche Bank increases Enterprise Inns (ETI.LN) target to 270p from 185p. Says following recent actions by the UK government surrounding quantitative easing, an increasing number of refinancings and comments regarding improved prospects for refinancing by the company, the brokerage is lowering the refinancing risk discount to its DCF value model to 25% from 50%. Thinks Enterprise will be able to renegotiate its short-term bank debt and sees negative news flow ebbing, leading to an improving outlook for the group. Keeps at buy.

What a difference a year makes, eh?!

"08 May'08 - 11:10

860 pence target

Deutsche Bank reiterated its 'buy' recommendation for Enterprise
Inns Thursday.....It also reaffirmed its 860 pence price target for the shares."

"5 May'09 - 10:00 - 234 of 235

0833 GMT [Dow Jones] Deutsche Bank increases Enterprise Inns (ETI.LN) target to 270p from 185p."

Mind you, they're both some way from -

"The Times January 1, 2009
Evolution has a 20p price target."

Does anyone actually take any notice of these brokers' "targets"?

Regards, Ian

safest bet in town IMO.... £20 - no ramp intended but it can be justified without a doubt...

on MKT update the proof will be in the pudding...

the pudding being www obviously without bringing heat onto the company until £20...

Well that was a brief pause for breath.

This is showing incredible strength at the moment. Neck and neck with the banks and probably safer.

Yes Ian,

The break through 130 was the key. It took several attempts.

A pause for breath around 162 would make sense with possibly a fall back to around 130 to test support before another big push upwards to new (recent) highs around 190.

Though a 30% rise after a 90% drop is a tad underwhelming

Well that was quite nice! Though I expect we'll see a bit of profit-taking in the short term; 30% in a day beats working!

Or, Mart10, you could have resolved your 'problem' at the outset by refusing to enter freely into such an iniquitous arrangement or kicked up a fuss when you went through the figures when negotiating the original lease. Why, you could even have taken your business elsewhere and either bought one of the many thousand freehold pubs or taken a free-of-tie lease (then you could start a campaign against your bank or landlord regarding their iniquitous charges).

It is interesting that the majority of pubs being forced to close during the current recession are, in fact, 'free' houses...........

Newsletter from "Fair Pint"

Dear fellow publican

This is not a 'Protest March' its an opportunity to meet your MP on a face to face basis in Parliament and express your views about your pubco, the tie and the problems you are facing on the coal face. Fair Pint have managed to get over 40 MP's to agree to meet us on the 20th May and more are confirming they will be there every hour. We now need publicans to commit a day to come to London and show MP's that the issues are not tiny they are common and wide spread.

What I would like you to do is click on the link below and fill in the details, this will allow Fair Pint to register your interest in attending the day and meeting your MP (on Wednesday 20th March), you can print off a letter and letter to send to your MP and then Fair Pint will send you some guidance before the day.

The process works like this : The Business and Enterprise Committee have undertaken an inquiry into pubcos we expect a fairly scathing report which will make recommendations to Government that they act, there will be a vote in Parliament and the Ministers voting need to know the extent of the problem. The Ministers will only know of the complexity and level of d ifficulty we are all under if the local MP's have advised them, our job as publicans is to finally get together and make sure our voice is heard by the MP's - I can not stress the importance that we all get to this Lobby Day and give the MP's an ear full of our problems.

I know none of you us publicans have a lot of time on our hands. I have spent pretty well every spare minute of time I have, along with a few others, trying to create an opportunity such as this. We all have a beef with our landlords and more particularly the amount we pay over and above the wholesale price for our beer. Are you paying over £125 for an 11 gallon keg of Carling when it is openly available from a wholesaler for £65 ?

If your happy with your arrangement with your pubco and how much you pay for your beer, I apologise for bothering you, if you have any kind of complaint don't leave it hoping someone else will fight your corner, now is the time, sign up now.
