burrmj,

I use halifax and they are usually very good. It was interesting that they would offer to buy the stock straight away (albeit only 14k!).

Also strange that news hasnt been updated as 1.5% on the company has been traded in several large blocks going through without an update in holdings

A large volume of interesting trades going through today - nearly 5 mill traded at or around mid price. this could be why the price was moved up yesterday and must indicate a bit more institutional interest. is someone building here, me thinks so!

MM trade also just gone in above offer price.

also not able to place an online buy order (sell would be accepted)

steady, dupont and fidelity are both buyers at this level. It is good to see such a confident move through 40p with the next test level around 45p.

I got my copies of the annual and interim results through last week and the cash flow situation is very good. There are a few patient faces in this one so not likely to get a further glut of sellers entering at these levels.

Dupont Capital increased holdings. MM buy of 500k went through at just over mid. Looks interesting.

Interesting.....

I too have just tried to either buy/sell more shares. Still cant auto trade and need to route through a dealer. they will take any shares that you want to sell though (offered 36.3).

A shortage or corporate action could definately be on the cards.

update
the latest news item says that putnam have filled part of fidelities order - they have reduced their stake considerable but still hold over 4% that they may want to clear therefore putting some downward pressure on the price. The transaction announced today was placed on the 19th which corresponds with the 2p fall that we saw then. prior to putnam offloading more we were edging towards the key support of 40p+ so when there shares have been cleared (if not already done so by fidelity) then we will rise back to those levels

good analysis Dart and welcome back!!!

are you a very rich man? a 280k holding isn't peanuts!!

The expected announcement of drip feeding the market has come and it was Deutsche (I suspect amongst others) that have supplied the shares to trade to fidelity.

I greatly respect fidelity's interest as they really do sniff out value and by taking such a large stake they have confidence in the long term prospects of ENO.

I'm not as bullish as yourself on the price as the general market conditions are deteriorating at the moment which will depress sentiment in the short term.

I agree that patience is the key to gains in this and I expect your 50p within 6mths (providing there is no further lapse in the sales performance) with the cost rebase coming through to earnings and a return to a dividend policy.

Hi, all !

Still very much alive and in buying mood, tried buying more today but MM's wouldn't auto trade or sell to me for less than 37pence exactly. Holding now 280,000. Looking to add 50,000 at around 36-37pence if available.

Still very much overweight, if I reduce I will let everyone know just after the trade and promise to indicate in advance if my opinion changes in any case, not that my trade will have any baring on the price though !!!!

Could auto trade in 50,000 mutiples today but only selling to MM's that is A BUY, they didn't want to let anyone buy Enodis shares today as they need lots for a large BUY order. Managing the price to fill Fidelity BUY perhaps at best price will start to head north now, strange goings on worth wainting a few more weeks and see 50p+

I wish I would have paid the 37pence today, as the one MM at 37p got taken out eventually, still will try again tommorow.

50pence seems a long way off but it will change quickly and sudenly, holding annoucements of the magnituted today present a new trading range opportunity as less free stock is on the market, it will turn patience is king !

4:29pm
The buyer OF 500,000 wishes to keep the order anonymous from the rest of the market as the size of the order could greatly alter the price of the stock. With a protected transaction, the dealer will put the trade through in small quantities rather than knock the whole order out in one hit. The entire transaction is reported once the deal is completed. The market as a whole isn't told until the end, thus the order is protected.

We have yet to learn if this latest BUY order is Fidelity or some other player, given the rather uninterested MM's the active MM will have no choice but to make the market to fill the order within a reasonable time, and or other MM's will push the price up in aticipation anyway

& Tommorow .... More Buying pressure and MM's keen to get more sales, they will have to put up the bid price up maybe 2pence or so.......

davidsheila1, could they have picked up a large chunk of the barclays or putnam shares? (both of whom have been sellers) it could also be that a 'no further interest' note comes out in the next few days in which case further shares would be available.
I had a scan through the declarations of holdings in company back to 2000 and couldnt see Fidelity listed, but it could also be an old holding that they have added to....

are you in?

How did Fidelty manage to pick up 13.20%, when as at 28/4/03 they not not have a notifiable interest.

It looks as though Fidelty have increased their stake, but looking through I cant see how big an increase it is, any ideas? either way it looks bullish that someone is taking up some of the shares that are still out there.

Darty, you've gone quiet. are you still in or did you bank your profit? I still hope we can hit 40p by the end of the month with a steady rise to 50 by the end of July.....

Just one offering to buy at 38p 100,000. But no-one want to sell what they have for less than 40p, although one MM at 39p (100,000), will not take much to take him out.

Happy Minting !! Just look at that trend now :-

Enodis Inventory turn, debtor days, operating margins, overheads, balance sheet safe as houses, steady rise past 50p
