Posted at 17/4/2009 02:11 by nod you would probably stand a better chance of being listened to if you complain collectively as a shareholder group rather than individually. there are probably many shareholders who read this thread but who never post.fortunately, I was not a holder of ENN when it went into administration |
Posted at 14/1/2009 21:28 by nod Another disposal today and not too far below book value. Do these disposals indicate that an overall takeover of ENN as a limited company is unlikely?Ennstone's assets are easily sliced up and sold - indeed many were bolt on acquisitions which should be fairly easy to unbolt and sell individually or in small bundles. Of course, they will have to take a big loss selling assets in todays market but selling some should ensure their survival. It's probable that the sum of the parts is much greater than the whole - the market cap today is less than 5m. Business web sites give different lists of ENN assets and it's not 100% clear to me what assets Enn have, but it looks to be something like this: UK totals: 23 quarries 19 asphalt plants 26 concrete plants 7 contracting operations Poland: 14 plants (aggregates and concrete) USA: network of 100 concrete truck mixers; bolt on acquisitions since 1997 10 plants The share price looks like falling as markets turn sour again. Even news of disposals doesn't help the share price I may have another punt if it falls back below 0.5p At that level it becomes a multi-bagger or bust. |
Posted at 12/1/2009 10:22 by nod btw - I hold GPG which is the largest shareholder in ENN, so I'm still an ENN shareholder in a very tiny way. |
Posted at 12/1/2009 10:18 by nod ph - that's what I had been trying to do but couldn't get a good price. Then I was offered over 3p and could not resist. Been watching ENN trades closely over recent days and thought rise was largely driven by small traders. Thought could fall quickly if an insti decides to sell more. Also, I feel it's important not to get too greedy. I bought Lloyds TSB this morning - boring by comparison but perhaps a bit safer than ENN in these volatile markets. |
Posted at 12/1/2009 09:18 by phbatbjco PS the shares I added were in addition to the ones I bought at 35p!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been in and out of Enn over the years. They have some good tangible assets. Bizarrly I have today just received a dividend on my original holding equating to a yield of some 50%!!! |
Posted at 10/1/2009 09:06 by nod palwing - there's a definite risk that shorters will pounce on the first negative day in the market. However, an announcement of new banking facilities would send ENN even higher and that news could come any day. The market cap is only 7 million today. Barclays are probably more likely to extend facilities this month than last: * ENN sold assets and paid some of its debt * The credit crunch has eased in recent weeks and may ease further * Barclays may feel more confident with Julian Cooper at the helm I notice the similarities between ENN and UNIQ price rises - both needed to get new banking facilities in place. UNIQ announced new facility on Friday. |

ENN is a risky bet and their success is very dependent on management/restructu Oversold? Julian Cooper effect? MM's suckering in punters? Bottom feeders? Holders averaging down? Genuine chance of recovery? Who knows? I certainly don't. Whatever the reason, being one of the top 3 All Share risers on Friday will ensure ENN pops up on a few radars this weekend. Monday could be interesting. Good luck all. O/T RW..I see Swaffham Woolies is going to become Iceland. |
Posted at 09/1/2009 09:10 by nod palwing - with such a large spread we have to watch the trade prices rather than the bid/offer spread.the instis were selling last month ... they may have sold too early. It's feasible that many funds were looking to write down ENN losses on their books at the end of the calendar year. If instis were going to take a big loss on ENN it was best to get it out of the way before end December. If so, this may leave the way clear for a change of sentiment with the appointment of a new [turnaround] Chairman and hopefully new banking facilities as the credit crunch eases. ENN is not short of tangible assets. |
