I don’t think anyone could reasonably claim the British fought world war 2 to help the Jewish people. Jews were deported to death camps from the Channel Islands.
Meanwhile I think it is clear that if Hamas had the capability now to kill 6m Jews, they would do it, and many people would look the other way, and perhaps support it.
So it is clear Jews need a safe country, and Israel is it.
The only question currently is what happens to Gaza. No one wants the people, Egypt and Israel are enforcing a blockade although Israel has said aid will be allowed in if Hamas release Israeli hostages. Seems a fair trade to me. |
Refugees don’t walk in and kick the people who live there out of their own homes. |
Impressive director buying, thank you. |
The vast majority came after the Second World War when they killed quite a lot of British troops (750 British troops died and many injured). Some of the same troops who had fought the Germans to free them. |

“Democratic but you stole the land your country is built on“
Am very flattered Robizm but, as it happens, I am neither Jewish nor Israeli.
FWIW the historical record shows Israelis living in Palestine for thousands of years. |
Double bottom in with confirmational Chairs £462K buy today |
@The Millipede - good post (109).
Plenty of Director & PCA buys reported today, good to see. ;-) |
The news organisation Global Firepower says that Israel has 241 fighter aircraft, 48 attack helicopters and 2,200 tanks. In addition, there's rocket launchers, satellites etc.
And nearly 400,000 reserve activists. Rather a lot for a country the size of Wales - and over 3 times its population. Israel has 10 million; Wales 3+ million. |
Democratic but you stole the land your country is built on. Bit like the Italians claiming most of the UK where they used to live. |
How did Israel do it? Well the current annual $3.8 billion subsidy - from the USA - helps significantly.
As have the billions they've received - from the same source - over a very long period of time, as well as arms.
Israel is, by far, the largest recipient of US aid - allowing US bases to operate there. Good friend to have, the US! |
Those crazies used to live there until they told to leave or die. Most of Israel is not even recognised by the world as they invaded and took over it. East Jerusalem is not recognised as it is invaded territory. This is a complex place but more of a worry is the cost of insurance for the fields which must surely rise. |
No - just stating facts. Unlike you - 'most people don't know it is there'...

So you are here out of the goodness of your heart trying to scare people. |
I disagree as out of the way and most people don’t even know it is there. Will not even be visible from land. There are much easier targets to hit |
Yes - 50 miles from the mainland.
In Israeli territory and vulnerable.
Like everywhere in the region.... |
I thought the infrastructure was 50 miles offshore and not in Israel. They have not shut down production due to security fears. |
War-torn Israel is the size of Wales! Difficult to make a case for investing there, currently. |
Closed at days low. |
