19/3/2012 08:28 | deutsche will be pushing hard for a sale = nice little fee! I am afraid they are pushing water up hill if they think that they can take this all the way now on their own- however if a deal is in the wings, now is the time to pull it out the bag! | edwardt
19/3/2012 08:23 | Outside chance: I'm just wonder if the mgt have tried to buy another 4-5 weeks (much like they did in Oct 2010 with those interims). Back those H1 results were far from notable but the JPM deal was in the wings and dropped at the same time as the formal results were announced. I wonder if a repeat of that might be possible. As I say, probably an outside chance now (as you note Ed, force of circumstance Inst'l investor impatience etc) but I'd love to see this company given a bit more time. They have tomorrow's technology today! May not be over just yet....but knives will be sharpened | knackers
19/3/2012 08:13 | disappointing is the right word. it shows how problematic having a company like this is on the listed space. short termism is all too common with shares - | edwardt
19/3/2012 08:06 | It could go for around 6-7 times sales. The IP is too good for there not to be a contest. Look at what happened to NetWitness...etc Endace are one of the few minnow survivors. Was always going to be tough for them, esp in an unforgiving mkt. If these go sub £5 they're a clear buy. Looking at the maths on valutaion, in terms of multiples of sales, they could get closer to £10. | knackers
19/3/2012 08:01 | The 'For Sale" sign would create a rare old tussle. Imagine Cisco v Juniper even without any other players. | aspex
19/3/2012 07:58 | Mike, yup I think it does. Reckon they'll be snappd up...maybe a mini bidding war for them. Fair value at what price; £8?? Wonder if that explains the price solidity in recent weeks... | knackers
19/3/2012 07:57 | K/mpf, They have indicated their interest in a Nasdaq listing so DB would have been included in that scenario. | aspex
19/3/2012 07:56 | "Having carefully considered various opportunities for the Company, earlier this year the Board appointed Deutsche Bank to review options for the future." Is that a for sale sign? Thoughts Aspex. Obviously the largest shareholders will have been consulted before this announcement... What a pity. But was always going to be tricky for Endace to fully realise their technology lead and market opportunity alone. We'll see as ever interesting times... | knackers
19/3/2012 07:52 | What does this mean ? Have they put themselves up for sell ? - 'Having carefully considered various opportunities for the Company, earlier this year the Board appointed Deutsche Bank to review options for the future'. | mikepompeyfan
19/3/2012 07:40 | Whoops. However delayed sales have happened before. Expect at least 30p drop and then a realisation that it is not too bad. Time to top up? | aspex
19/3/2012 07:37 | Obviously disappointing to read this morning's update. But prospects remain solid enough. I'll be holding for sure. | knackers
19/3/2012 07:36 | Looks like they just put up the 'for sale' sign. | gargoyle2
15/3/2012 09:33 | Infonetics Research: sees network security spending worldwide reaching $6.7 billion by 2016 Network security services (probes and appliance deployment) is considered one of the most stable sectors within the IT security market. This specific market segment is fx to grow by 8% this year (3% last year) as key economies continue to recover. | knackers
15/3/2012 08:32 | Indeed Aspex ;o) Let's just hope as they break into the US [mainstream enterprise] market they don't ruffle too many feathers...though in such an uber competitive market that's almost inevitable. Endace have built this NetOps + NetSec SOLUTION from the ground up, all the way from the I/O technology/firmware (DAG card). Quite an achievement for a 180 employee org HQ'd in the bottom right hand corner of the map! Thing is so many of the big boys (Juniper, Cisco, et al) now know Endace have cracked 40gb/s-100gb/s 100% packet capture. They're some way behind...many of their IDS/monitoring solutions start dropping packets sub 5gb/s. They're going to struggle against EDA in this emerging high speed market. So how will the 'big game' react...block, tackle or a few dirty tricks? | knackers
14/3/2012 20:37 | K 2134 was a quick find! Almost "10 quid by Friday" stuff | aspex
14/3/2012 16:11 | If they're allowed...ditto! In the meantime, let's see what the next 3-4 weeks bring. | knackers
14/3/2012 15:17 | if they do a google or a apple , i will be on the beach | edwardt
14/3/2012 14:58 | I don't think the Execs at Endace have any such intention, Ed. They're gonna make a go of it. Check this out Not exactly a shy and retiring article and certainly not something I'd be sanctioning if I were concerned about my FY numbers! Even if I had grown some oversized kn888ers, or DAGs for that matter, since the Oct interims ;o) Plenty of tantalising/juicy insights in this story: - Future revenue expectations ($230m USD pa within 4-5 years) - Size of the prize ($6bn) - Confirmation of 100gb first sales (plural) - Indexing and mining captured packets (a la Google) - More than 37% growth - Suggestion of a Nasdaq dual-listing...maybe Endace now have the product - time for action. 5% of $6bn? Heck, why not?! We have a exciting 12-24 months to look forward to. Though still think there'll need assistance to help expedite and de-risk the US GTM strategy. That's Spencer's bag. I think we'll hear more on that nearer FY Results in early May, rather than April's year end flash. | knackers
14/3/2012 14:23 | it kind of makes you think what is the point the entrepenurs in these sectors actually working hard, if they can sell out on that type of multiple! i know i would be on the beach asap | edwardt
14/3/2012 11:23 | Given that they're fairly well established I'd say iro 6x revenues. But as the sector is chugging along nicely enough that might be a low view. 8x for SonicWall might be pushing it - but quite possible. In the last 1-2 years those with uber-growth-prospect | knackers
14/3/2012 09:38 | any guess what multiples would have applied? | edwardt
14/3/2012 09:01 | Sector feeding frenzy continues as Dell acquires SonicWall to bolster their security software portfolio. | knackers
12/3/2012 19:56 | Top notch EndaceVision marketing campaign launches in the US, check it out at | knackers
11/3/2012 13:10 | Endace: The ideal platform for packet capture... Article Jointly-penned by Endace with their global systems production and distribution partner, NEI: | knackers
07/3/2012 07:41 | Yup, with the launch of Vision, Endace are giving Net Ops AND Net Sec teams what they NEED at a much cheaper price point. Real focus seems to have been given to addressing customers challenges and future requirements. Nice work all round, and a significant addition to EDA's IP. | knackers |
