19/2/2012 20:44 | Want high definition visibility into your enterprise network? Yup, there's an App for that! ;o) A very exciting development, if I'm reading this correctly. Get "EndaceVision" on your iPad or iPhone here --> Looks like we have a significant new product development in the wings | knackers
17/2/2012 07:27 | Knackers, Powerful stuff. | aspex
16/2/2012 08:54 | Endace sponsored article in Network World: For complete network visibility you need all the packets - and layer 6 application intelligence. "Today, a new breed of distributed packet-based network monitoring and recording fabrics are emerging to help organizations solve the problem of network optimization and real-time anomaly detection and forensic examinations." | knackers
15/2/2012 18:00 | It's all happening over in the US. Senators introduce new critical infrastructure cyber security act | knackers
15/2/2012 17:20 | More tasty turnover at the close. | knackers
15/2/2012 11:10 | Endace FS partner Correlix expands global sales team: Wonder if this had anything to do with Kevin's departure..? Apr 2011 Daniel Connell, chief executive officer of Correlix, said: "We've been working with Endace for a long time because they have proven themselves to have high quality data capture solutions. The introduction of the Application Dock is an intriguing evolution and has the potential to make it easier and faster for us to deploy our application. We're excited about the future of the Application Dock program and we look forward to working closely with Endace as the program develops." | knackers
14/2/2012 18:18 | That's more like it: two new heavyweight resellers in the US. The most notable being systems integrator, World Wide Technology Accuvant being the other (more a enterprise cybersec consultancy) Bit surprised that WWT tie-up didn't warranted an RNS...other [larger] fish to fry p'haps? Like to think so. | knackers
14/2/2012 16:06 | Don't think KPN are alone, Ed i.e. that their 'cybersec was not up to the job'. Clunky, enterprise-level regulation (such as vulnerability scanning, protection and detection tech min standards etc) could be only another major incident away but until then, given the current econ climate and existing reg/compliance burden on orgs, v unlikely. For the moment practical/reputation This year or next, that major incident will happen. It's a sad fact, but this nasty little trend isn't going to suddenly reverse or stop anytime soon...quite the opposite. | knackers
14/2/2012 11:21 | KPN dutch telecoms group had to issue an email to its clients after it was hacked into over the weekend - it admits its cyber security was not up to the job. perhaps someone from eda sales should give them a call! | edwardt
09/2/2012 19:13 | Excellent Forbes article...sobering indeed | knackers
09/2/2012 18:23 | Well that would explain the price retrace wouldn't it, 180k shares traded after the bell @£5.45 | knackers
09/2/2012 15:35 | I see Endace's Kevin Formby has moved to fresh pastures and into his first CEO role at network tap/switch vendor Datacom Systems, Inc. Recent move by the looks, perhaps emphasising Endace's "behind-the-scenes" shift in market focus from FS/HFT to broader Fortune 1000 enterprise Net Ops and Sec Ops. Shame to loose him but I think Kevin's work was largely done... | knackers
08/2/2012 14:48 | Quite a reversal in trading from 1-2 weeks ago. Yesterday we had half the sellers and were off 20p...today just 5p (so far). Anyone else find that a bit odd? | knackers
07/2/2012 22:36 | Difficult to fathom - but an almost carbon copy of the late Nov drop on v light volumes. News would be helpful ;o) | knackers
07/2/2012 16:26 | mm down again on no volume - we r in need of some positive newsflow or this will keep on drifting.... | edwardt
06/2/2012 10:27 | I'd say so (bit suspicious) esp against the high t/o we saw at these prices only a few days back. | knackers
06/2/2012 09:55 | back down again on no volume - mm's trying to shake out some sellers? | edwardt
02/2/2012 14:12 | Cisco makes the 'switch' and upgrades offering with big leap to 40/100G Proliferation of 10G in data centres means 100G backbone is required to alleviate congestion. Clearly this presents a massive challenge to network monitoring (packet/flow) vendors - though not for Endace. One of the few vendors that can drink from the proverbial fibre-optic firehose without spilling a drop! | knackers
01/2/2012 17:44 | No great surprise p'haps. New research paper entitled "Low Latency: Faster than Light", shows that, in particular, FX, bonds and listed futures and options markets are benefitting from and demanding ultra-low latency trading platforms. | knackers
31/1/2012 13:04 | New "...all countries lag behind the bad guys...a cyber security *Arms Race* is underway" Along with the high freq trading market (delivering ultra-low latency monitoring) that's another market segment Endace is serving 'in an arms race'. Can't be bad! | knackers
31/1/2012 09:08 | Interesting developemt, Mike. Whilst in one of Endace's market segments, I'd put Solera's technology some way behind Endace's - hence the need for the investment perhaps..? No question, Endace was early to spot the fact that future network security (in the most demanding/high speed environments) was only going to be effectively delivered through a passive h/w based platform. That vision has certainly helped them keep ahead and their proprietary DAG technology also provides the foundational I/O few other vendors in this area have. What we're now seeing is the above approach entering the mainstream - and a recognition/admissio Accelerating network speeds (towards 40g and 100G) now mean that the passive (offline/IDS) approach to network security and monitoring is the ONLY effective way the job can be done. These solution must deliver total network visibility, no dropped packets and no loss of network performance (which in FS, and indeed for many cloud deployed, bandwidth hungry apps is totally unacceptable). No question the competition is hotting up...but I'm sure Endace are working hard to ensure their lead is retained if not extended. But as they make more of a name for themselves, not difficult to see it being only a matter of time before someone's sights zero in on NZ's local hero. If Intel Capital are, "very optimistic about where Solera is headed." "Bring it on!" I'd say ;o) Great find. | knackers
30/1/2012 19:46 | Intel Invests In Web Security Startup Solera Networks By REINHARDT KRAUSE, INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY Posted 01:26 PM ET Featured Stocks ALLT Allot Communications Ltd INTC * Intel Corp PKT * Procera Networks Inc * Top-Rated Company Web traffic analytics firm Solera Networks is expected to announce Monday that it has raised $20 million from Intel Capital, chip leader Intel's (INTC) VC unit, and other investors. Salt Lake City-based Solera Networks uses deep-packet inspection technology to identify security risks in Web traffic. Two companies in IBD's Computer Networking group, Allot Communications (ALLT) and Procera Networks (PKT), also sell Internet traffic analytical tools, and both are doing pretty well. Israel-based Allot has an IBD Composite Rating of 95. Los Gatos, Calif.-based Procera has a CR of 98. CR looks at many of the main metrics, including profit and sales growth, and 99 is the highest score. Shares of Allot and Procera, however, are up just slightly in 2012. Solera, however, says its direct rivals are NetWitness, Endace, Niksun and NetScout Systems, which is down a fraction in early afternoon trading. Solera says it's now raised $51 million in all. In 2010, Intel jumped into the security field, paying $7.7 billion for antivirus security company McAfee. Earlier investors in Solera Networks include Allegis Capital, Signal Peak Ventures and Trident Capital. The company will use the funds to expand sales and marketing and for product development. DPI software screens Web traffic coming into corporate data centers. "With increasingly large amounts of data crossing corporate networks, organizations must balance advanced threat prevention with an aggressive and proactive response system to be fully prepared when an inevitable breach occurs. We see companies continuing to realize that real-time, intelligent incident response is now an essential component of their security strategy," Sean Cunningham, Intel Capital investment director, said in a statement. "Solera Networks delivers a scalable, high-performance solution that addresses these challenges and is the only independent platform capable of broad integration. We are very optimistic about where Solera is headed." | mikepompeyfan
30/1/2012 11:26 | Why not, Mike! And hopefully we get to hear and see a bit more Mr Blue in the not too distant future. We like a bit of on the BB don't we...? ;o) | knackers |
