Posted at 16/3/2007 07:30 by mr.oz MIXED BAG....Eleksen Trading Statement RNS Number:0779T Eleksen Group PLC 16 March 2007 Eleksen Group plc ("Eleksen" or the "Company") Trading Statement March 16 2007 Eleksen Group plc, which makes smart fabrics products used to control electronic devices such as smartphones and MP3 players, today gives a trading update to the market. Following the company's recent commercial arrangements with major brands such as Microsoft and Apple and current discussions with a number of other brands, the Board remains confident that there are substantial opportunities for its technology. Management accounts for the year ended December 31, 2006, which are currently undergoing audit review, indicate that revenues for the year are likely to be around #3.5 million, closely in line with current market expectations and some two and a half times greater than the #1.3 million reported for 2005. Looking forward, however, the timing of converting opportunities to revenue remains difficult to forecast. The Board's present best estimates suggest that forecasts of sales for 2007, whilst substantially above that achieved in 2006, are materially less than current market forecasts. However, expectations are that the level of marketing and product support costs going forward will be lower, thereby reducing the impact of the lower revenue on pre-tax operating figures The Company will report results for the year to December 31, 2006, on April 18 2007 and provide further guidance at that stage. Posted at 30/11/2006 14:38 by nabcom Eleksen Group (ELG)30 November 2006 Eleksen iPod Solution Available in Luxury Market Zegna iJACKET Eleksen Group plc ('Eleksen'), which makes smart fabrics that can be used to control electronic devices such as smartphones and MP3 players, has been chosen by Ermenegildo Zegna ('Zegna') to supply ElekTex iPod controls for its Zegna iJACKET. The iJACKET is aimed at the luxury market and will be sold through Zegna's own retail stores as well as other luxury retailers in the USA, Europe and Asia including Harrods, SAKS Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales. The jacket enables the wearer to control their iPod from a control panel on the outer sleeve via an iPod connection in the inner breast pocket. Zegna Sport is the first luxury brand to develop a jacket with this remote control technology specifically designed for iPod users, of which there are already over 50 million worldwide. Robin Shephard, CEO of Eleksen, comments: 'With Zegna's iJACKET we're entering the luxury goods market for the first time and the global power of Zegna's brand and distribution network will ensure that this product is available worldwide. 'There is clearly a growing market for clothing that enables consumers to interact more conveniently with the ever-increasing number of mobile entertainment devices available to them and that's now as true for premium fashion brands as it is for the mass market.
