The Board announces that at today's extraordinary general meeting of Edinburgh
UK Smaller Companies Tracker Trust PLC (the "Company") both resolutions were
passed and accordingly the Company has been placed into members' voluntary
liquidation with Patrick Brazzill and Margaret Mills of Ernst & Young LLP
appointed liquidators of the Company, (the "Liquidators").



Distribution of Proceeds

The Liquidators have indicated that they anticipate being in a position to
distribute the majority of the net cash proceeds arising from the liquidation of
the Company to Shareholders no later than 21 December 2006, following
realisation of the Company's portfolio. The remainder of the cash proceeds,
including the Liquidators' retention, will be distributed after paying the costs
of the Company's liquidation and settling all other liabilities of the Company.
The precise timing of this second and any further distribution will depend upon
the Liquidators establishing that the Company has no outstanding liabilities.



Portfolio Composition

The unaudited daily net asset value (with investments at bid market values and
excluding current period revenue) of the Company as at close of business on 29
November 2006 was 294.33p.   95.9% of the Company's portfolio was held in UK
equities, and 4.1% in cash.



Copies of the resolutions will be filed with the UK Listing Authority later
today and will be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's
