21/8/2015 19:28 | Commodities under pressure: | bigt20
21/8/2015 12:29 | good article demonstrating the impact of short sellers on oil which are the primary cause of the drop in oil, not s&d, according to the author | lazarus2010
21/8/2015 09:52 | Canadian o&g stocks have been totally phkd these past couple of weeks, time to see some players folding their cards and leaving the game? Any cash rich investors buying assets now with a long term investment plan will gain multi-bagger assets for cents on the $. Let's hope the rns of 28th is confirmed with some decent asset purchases over the next few months. Even if we were to buy producing assets and just shut them in until prices rise, this would be a good thing. No point selling valuable oil below cost so long as it doesn't damage the integrity of the well. | lazarus2010
21/8/2015 07:14 | Canada could do with building a few heavy oil refineries, rather than relying on the US. | sleveen
20/8/2015 21:28 | Carp - the refineries are coming back online and a pipeline is returning after a minor spillage. | jamesiebabie
20/8/2015 21:11 | Heavy oil diff $18.60 yesterday, today $15.55 ... every little helps. | carpadium
14/8/2015 17:49 | Laz, Edge pay interest only on their loan which, on the crazy price we're currently seeing equals about 10 days cash from ops (so long as their oil gets to market, as you note). Their banking loan review, scheduled 31 July yet to take place. Nothing sinister, the bank is apparently 'abnormally busy' probably because they've far greater problems to address within their client portfolio. | carpadium
14/8/2015 17:23 | a ray of light in a long dark tunnel? | lazarus2010
14/8/2015 11:51 | Carp, with prices of $20, or C$26, any Canadian oil companies with major debt to service will not be long for this world...actually doesn't even have to be major debt! | lazarus2010
14/8/2015 11:49 | another perfect storm to kick Canadian oilers while they're down! Pipelines shut, refineries off line!! I hope BN is just storing our oil locally ready to sell it when prices improve. | lazarus2010
14/8/2015 11:36 | Is the differential back to $20? How could that be? | lazarus2010
12/8/2015 15:01 | Carp - have a look at SPL, a non oiler, but interesting non the less. I still like EDG, a lot. | jamesiebabie
12/8/2015 13:48 | In a shot to bits portfolio I certainly back EDG to outperform EME/TXP/LGO over the next couple of years. However the star award in my portfolio would go to dividend-paying RCN, just wish I hadn't been so oil-focused in the past. Like a lot of us no doubt. | carpadium
11/8/2015 15:35 | with wti now so low, EDG's strategy to go on an acquisition trail could be very good timing if they get it right, which I am pretty certain they will! I think this could end up being the star of my portfolio in the future! | lazarus2010
11/8/2015 10:32 | More on poo and excess oil: Patience is needed. | bigt20
03/8/2015 09:31 | whether it's a strong $ or a weak Loonie, it's now at C$1.315 which is helping counteract (although not by much!) the continued fall in WTI. | lazarus2010
31/7/2015 10:38 | I know some of the industry experts in exxonmobil are indicating that they expect poo to remain low until the end of next year, then rising towards the 80 dollar region. Not what I really want to hear, and they have been wrong in the past. One good sign is a reversal in the decline in annual consumption in the us mogas market which has seen a tick up. This is due to US and Canadian drivers reverting back to their "vehicle of choice",now gas pump prices have reduced to a perceived "cheap range",gasoline demand is increasing. | belgrano2
30/7/2015 15:04 | what a dilemma...wait for evidence of good acquisitions before buying or buy now at these low prices? I must admit I'm reluctant to buy any oilers until the PoO starts heading up, but then I won't be a contrarian, just another sheep ;-) | lazarus2010
29/7/2015 09:02 | Carp - I was looking at an asset purchase, not the company; they are distressed. Another one to read. | jamesiebabie
29/7/2015 07:49 | Quick glance, looks a dead duck Jb, lots of capital expenditure made, possibly ripe for BN and Investor Group action. | carpadium
28/7/2015 22:03 | I believe BN is close to the action on this; one to read and see if Brad will try to do a deal. "Contractual Obligations The Company has a commitment to make monthly principal and interest payments on short term debt, term loan and a finance lease. During the three months ended March 31, 2015, the Company was not able to make payments in the amount of approximately $135,000 per month on the term loan and approximately $185,000 on the finance lease." | jamesiebabie |
