The discovery by Nasa's Kepler mission of six planets around a Sun-like star is fascinating but it was made possible by Chelmsford's biggest private employer - e2v, a hi-tech company which supplied the crucial image sensors. It has forged close links with both the Open and Nottingham universities to commercialise academic research, which is why government cuts to the science capital budget are so alarming. Surely there's other campus fat to cut rather than going straight for the bone? Spending reductions are necessary but they need better management.

I used to hold PHTM a few months back pnetol, sold a little while back.

Held CCT in the past but have had to great a liklihood of warning and getting their xmas inventory wrong - not sure about the old boy King there either - going well for you at the moment tho :-)

Yes, very nice to see E2V on the 10 o'clock news last night. The thought that E2V's technology has been instrumental in finding planets that may be capable of sustaining life makes me warm inside. But if the share price goes up to £1.50 I will feel even warmer.

L2, 3 buy orders at 109 Vs 1 sell order at 109.75, then 3 at 111. Plenty of buyers today.

I bought in yesterday too!
All sells this morning. Nobody buying yet!
1Million sold in twenty minutes early on.
Still no need to panic (I hope).
Sp holding up well.
Sp still well ahead of 50sma.
Plenty of big shareholders.
Ten of them with well over 1 mill shares.
Four of them with 12 to 30million shares.
1 million looks a lot of shares to me but for them its only portfolio trimming.
Good company outlook still in place.
