Thanks, Rawli. More comforting than revelatory. Eq Dev are paid by companies they write about I believe, and some phraseology seems to fall rather to undigested from TR's lips - e.g. "very selective" recruitment.

They put a fine gloss on "exceptional items" included in ordinary costs and admit that 2008 is anybody's guess.

They markedly do not repeat their August '07 21p share price target - merely refer to it - a subtle sleight of pen I feel.

The one underlying positive is their quite strong statement that the dividend will be comfortably capable of increase, even at low end of forecasts. And the yield is higher than the PE. So we have a value business going forward, if not a value share just yet - time to buy more? Assuming dividend increase of about 10% to 1.1p, that's a forward yield of 10% on a business unlikely to go bust with good management (operationally, even though one might argue with their allocation of profts!) with a decent interest in the share price That's almost double what you can get in a bank with your money and tax free in a SIPP. Who knows - one day the share price might rise to fair value too. So content to hold for another year.

Another one which is simply a move from CFA (DCA) to DCS - no net gain.

Thanks Fat Lady - I've been feeling the same but its been difficult to be enthusiastic given the share price. However, I'm in for the long term and happy with the dividend so for now, will stop looking at the share price. I think the team is good - the new guys are well known, respected and very driven - with their interest in Dowgate they'll want to make it work. The company's got cash, I think representing half its market cap, which seems crazy given its also got a steady retainer income (with increasingly good companies) which should see it though a market downturn. As i said, am in for the long term - one day others will see the value in this little one.

It's interesting to note that, despite the apparent lack of activity in the market at the moment, we are actually level pegging with 2007 in terms of the number of transactions completed in the first quarter.

Not all the documents are available on the website yet, and to be honest I haven't yet studied the ones that are, but there does seem to be a general feeling that the quality of the work is improving. (I will try and substantiate this when I have time over the next few days).

So, the obvious question is why the share price is floundering, and as with most questions relating to the markets, in particular in the current environment, it's a difficult one to answer comprehensively. As in most cases, it is undoubtedly a combination of factors, such as poor newsflow, poor PR etc. But the main reason has to be the state of financial markets in general. A lot of would-be investors are steering clear of any risk at the moment; at best they might be heading for defensive stocks in sectors such as food production etc., and the truth staring us all in the face is that, at times like this, people do not sink money into small cap AIM stocks which carry an inherent risk. Couple with that the fact that we are directly involved in the financial sectors, and you have to admit that we are not going to be at the top of many people's wish list!

A good proportion of us are happy with progress on the work front - it is only(!) the share price we are not happy with. However, if we accept that market forces are against us, and that once things stabilise value should return, then I for one am happy to sit tight. Admittedly it could take another year or more for that situation to play out, but I can't see any other shares crying out for my money.

in complete agreement with you regarding childish slagging-off of fellow investors by some on here, so have filtered many that i dont want to read about.
As far as share is concerned i was happy with dividend but far from happy with share price, bonus payments as a whole and shares "given" to new bods who may have good track record elsewhere but doing it for us is all im interested in.
Will keep dribbling-in funds through nominee account for time being, still dream of this coming good, losing heart but not faith.
No i have not e-mailed TR by the way.

buy 25k @ 10.9p
sell 50k @ 10.59p
L2 1 V 1

Lets hope for some buyers to move this forward as it seems to have got stuck again after some slight movement recently.

What has happened to this buy back has it stalled?

I would have thought it was a good time now to buy them back while the price is so low.

jsc,

When you wrote post 6663, my post was number 6661 of 6662. Therefore, if you did have me filtered it would have read as follows:

til fat lady sings - 16 Apr'08 - 17:48 - 6661 of 6662 (Filtered)

You mistakenly put 6661 of 6663 in your post, trying to make out you'd filtered me.

Unfortunately, you've played straight into Propane's hands - you are indeed saying you've filtered people when you haven't.
