24/11/2016 19:59 | The Capital Markets Day webcast is well worth watching...lots of interesting facts and figures on the business. I never knew the Icelandic people loved pizzas so much! Still plenty of growth ahead. | robinnicolson
24/11/2016 17:36 | Numis 'buy' tp 446p reiteration | philanderer
24/11/2016 09:07 | That chart downtrend almost reversed with today`s news . | philanderer
19/10/2016 09:11 | Cheers fastbuck, I guess it's the same situation for DOM's competition also so all relative! Interesting though to see if food inflation in the supermarkets means more will look at the take-away menu! | dealer1972
19/10/2016 08:03 | Dealer1972, heard a short interview on BRR media, no doubt covered more in the conf call, yes food inflation from forex movements principally will be a cost that Dominos are passing onto their franchisees /consumersThis won't be the first time they need to raise prices, not sure how much that will mean to the average 12 inch pizzaOverseas operations profits of course, if profitable is a benefit | fastbuck
18/10/2016 15:39 | Lewis,we have a local Italian owned pizzeria place round the corner and I understand they make great pizzas according to my friends.I haven't tried one because I'm more likely to pop a pizzaland supermarket takeaway job in the oven once in a blue moon. Not a big Pizza eater.Family businesses are invariably up against it on a number of fronts.Curry houses, for example, are closing rapidly because young Bangladeshis are keener to make a living in electronics say than serving ingrates poppadoms. Its not easy to get permanent labour etc and i think Dominos Pizza are much more likely to overcome labour and other problems than some family owned concern.Hence,my comment about logistics. Also, take someone like Macdonalds, frankly I think their burgers are questionable BUT kids are devoted to them and their French fries are very popular. There's no accounting for taste. You're clearly a pound conscious Jamie Oliver!Hell of price recovery today, shorts closing I guess. | steeplejack
18/10/2016 15:13 | I think it's rare that anyone pays full price for a pizza at Domino's, there's always voucher codes on various websites where you can get up to 50% off. On the Domino's website they even have a blog where you can play a game to increase the discount. I think with Domino's you always know what you're going to get in terms of quality & consistency. With the independent places both will vary wildly. | charliecrocodile
18/10/2016 11:56 | Lol that is true. To be honest the likes of Pizza Hut, Pizza Express etc I find are priced far too high but always found Dominos fair value particularly the deals! Other than the supermarkets I can't buy Pizzas much cheaper! I guess my only thoughts on the price drop was around whether Dominos imported any ingredients from Europe and in light of the fall in the pound would impact costs. Anyone know Dominos exposure on this? | dealer1972
18/10/2016 10:31 | Steeple, You miss the point, its not about logistics its about local outlets doing it better and cheaper so why should I pay for mass manufactured dough at two or 3 times the price. Dealer, I'm sure you meant no offence to the Northern half of the country. I did forget the southern states like to pay twice as much for same things. £18 for a pizza, seriously!! I can get 3 * 12 inch pizzas for that just like mama used to make :-) L. | lewis winthorpe
18/10/2016 09:23 | And all for £15! Where do you live, Middlesbrough? | dealer1972
18/10/2016 09:11 | What a pleasant pastoral scene you paint.Happy families using their local, village pizzeria making authentic meals 'liker my mama made'.Whether such shops are up to competing with Dominos logistically I wonder. | steeplejack
17/10/2016 10:54 | Fact is overpriced pizza is going out of fashion. The emergence of great local pizzerias with quick delivery and their own website ordering through or outside of hungry house and just eat means why pay through the nose for mass produced guff. I can feed the family of 5 for £15 locally and delivered within 30 mins. Excellent home cooked fayre. £2.50 for this one Enjoy! | lewis winthorpe
15/10/2016 10:39 | Is it a massive volume of buy trade went thru at the end of the day? Please correct me if I m wrong. Cheers | muji1983
