13/11/2006 12:16 | glenn, looked at LOQ and agree with you. I'm in !!! | glyn10
07/11/2006 16:46 | im having a fantastic few months, dobbies, music copyright and most of all LOQ if i was you id look at LOQ - this isnt your typical ramp here are the broad facts; market cap 3.8 million cash in bank 700k maiden profit of 300k due now heres the growth bit - from just one site managed by them and 4 licensed out they made 300k. Next year they will have 7 and probably 8 site and all self managed - profits should be 1 million putting them on a ridiculous PE once cash is stripped out of just 3!!! see loq thread for details | ![]() glennborthwick
06/11/2006 13:28 | Yes, not only the recent results but the asset backing for the shares, the Tom Hunter stake, the capital gains tax advantage for (some) AIM shares..... I've almost convinced myself to buy some more. PS bought some good cheese at Dobbies (Newcastle) last week. | ![]() bigbertie
06/11/2006 11:59 | It is a bit lonely. I thought after the recent results and the very good performance of the share that lots of people would be on hear celebrating etc !! We can't be the only 2 people with shares. | glyn10
06/11/2006 09:50 | Glyn - a bit lonely here isn't it? I'm not complaining about the share price though. | ![]() bigbertie
01/11/2006 08:59 | Still more good results and a good share price | glyn10
25/8/2006 16:13 | Lol, good idea bigbertie ! | glyn10
25/8/2006 16:09 | closed the week above 1,000p - what a great share. I'm off for a celebratory beer. | ![]() bigbertie
25/8/2006 09:26 | Me too, August has been a good month, lets hope Sept is the same ! | glyn10
24/8/2006 19:17 | just sniffing the 1,000 mark now............when it gains confidence it will burst through (hopefully). I'm staying in anyway. | ![]() bigbertie
08/8/2006 18:50 | k for reply....does seem to move on very few buys...guess wud move down on few sells too..unless of course someone/body is looking to accumulate more..for example Mr Hunter :) Even a buy of jus 250 shares cant b don automatically in my experience. | ![]() badtime
08/8/2006 13:05 | Not at all. 1200/1300 is the anticipated share price based on the effect of Mr Hunter and 1200p has certainly been quoted by some brokers in the recent past. I have spoken to a few people who have been following Dobbies for some time and they think 1300 is possible. Don't get me wrong it may take 12months or so. | glyn10
08/8/2006 08:20 | Mind me asking how u arrive at 12/1300 | ![]() badtime
07/8/2006 09:36 | Badtime - I got a tip from a friend who has bought a lot of stock, apparently the Hunter factor is going to have an impact before long.. 1200 - 1300 I'm told ! | glyn10
04/8/2006 22:10 | Also dipped me toe in first thing..stock must be thin on ground to move this much on so little buying | ![]() badtime
04/8/2006 11:43 | I bought in this morning, glad to see the rise has continued. This looks to be a solid company and with the Hunter factor I think it should continue its good form. | glyn10
02/7/2006 19:44 | I agree - the existence of the Hunter stake means something will happen sooner of later. Even if he doesn't bid himself, he will be looking to make a profit on his stake somehow. | ![]() bigbertie
01/7/2006 13:18 | The price is driven by the hunter stake. One broker suggested they were worth 1200p but I think that is fancifull. If hunter wants to buy dobbies £10 seems good to me. Remember sales are flat and this year has been dreadfull for garden centres. Dobbies is consolidating its position and might buy Blooms who have a similar business model. Eventually I am sure that Hunter will want to buy both dobbies and blooms. | ![]() wahlenm
30/6/2006 19:13 | Dobbies up 60p today and this board is silent - does no-one except me like making money? | ![]() bigbertie
27/6/2006 18:41 | interims look ok to me, recent like sales up, new sites on schedule, debt was up but the book value of their sites is now a whopping £96m. | ![]() bigbertie
20/6/2006 09:23 | very quiet here considering (1) weather is lovely (2) interims due next Tuesday (3) stakebuilding by West Coast Capital (4) reliable companies on AIM now popular for tax reasons this is flying now. sper, you still there? | ![]() bigbertie
24/4/2006 19:15 | just noise. I'm sure the trend is intact - the weather has been lovely here (Northumberland) so I imagine they have been doing good business in the Easter hols. my sister-in-law went to the Ponteland Dobbies on Easter weekend - the car park was full and an adjacent field was being used for overflow parking - there was a queue of cars so they left! | ![]() bigbertie
24/4/2006 15:04 | big bertie - but worry when it goes down! | sper
18/4/2006 13:23 | sper - why worry? it's going up. The volumes have been small, so it can hardly be major stakebuilding. Probably just nobody selling, so price gets pushed on up. Also I think the expansion into South of England is convincing people that it is a serious player. Most people south of the Tyne would never have heard of Dobbies a year ago! I'm holding anyway because some year soon the weather will be brilliant and sales will leap. Meanwhile the property value will prevent the price falling far. | ![]() bigbertie |
