Interesting to see two investment companies buying shares - one on three recent occasions and the other once once. I assume they feel Dia has potential that isn't reflected in the current price.

Interesting RNS: From htTp://www.sterlingstrategicvalue.com/index.html "Sterling seeks to enhance the value of companies through, where appropriate, an engaged and supportive approach that aligns shareholder and management interests".

beeezzz - if you're going to post a link implying it is current please look at the date. The article says "Shares of Dialight Plc (LON:DIA) opened at 551.0000 on Wednesday" - it hasn't been there since August. The article referred to recent events which ranged from June 30th to July 30th.

Agree CR. Hopefully we will get a much better risk reward entry point at some point over the next few months. I do like the underlying business and its future prospects. Happy to shrug off bad news so long as I get in at a much cheaper price. Well, one hopes!!

Trading on a PE of 30 even after today's pull back tongosti - that's a big rating for something about to miss imo. CR

Keeping a close eye on this but I agree that the price would have to come down a lot more before it becomes attractive to get back in

Warning of a warning coming today. Can't see the point of being long ahead of one of DIA's warnings, never received happily imo. All imo CR

scantrader:> Congrtulations on your profit - I suspect you may be kicking yourself in a few months time BUT a pofit is a pofit. Reading between the lines more problems have been uncovered PLUS more importantly weakness apparent in their markets. No dividend support so I suspect could well test 12 month lows again.

Great - I'm about 7 grand up on my short spread bet here. Phew - I'd actually been getting quite worried lately. Congrats to Matt Earle and his detailed bear arguments. Commiserations to holders here - posters on this board seem a decent bunch. Good luck to you elsewhere - and this one too now I've closed out. Cor -I see it's bounced back a bit while I was writing that - maybe other shorts closing too.

Yes...MF being economical with the truth again, the problem is they do very little research before posting their comments. The share price maybe being kept artificially high due to buyers of the whole company and IP portfolio, who knows these days. Its interesting that the share price is holding up in very volatile stock markets lately.

I'm not sure what point he was trying to make about margins, but when he enthused about the lighting revenue growth they achieved he should have noted that nearly a third of that was due to fortuitous currency movements. I agree with him about it being rather expensive though. Even the highest 12 month broker price target (660p) is just lower than the share price as I write. And a quick google will show research demonstrating that 3 out of 4 times such targets turn out to be too optimistic at the end of their time span.

scan...I don't put much credence in what MF say these days...its more about plugging their own great picks rather than getting the facts straight. Dia are reasonably high margin products due the fact they meet certain specifications that others do not.

A per of more than 35 is bad enough anyway but it must assume earnings for H2 of about 15 p, compared to 5.4p in H1. Somewhat fanciful methinks.
