It surprised me , efagie, as I thought they'd discarded the idea of the FPSO on cost grounds and had the agreement of FIG to do so.
I really thought I read something like that in the announcement.
But I don't follow RKH at all these days - just PMO announcements when they talk about exploration (as opposed to development and production).

I thought the decision had pretty much been made already.

As a delaying tactic - it wouldn't surprise me at all.
But here's a thing I asked (somewhere - don't remember where though) - if they have said they'll give the cash to RKH for development including and FPSO - I thought that meant it HAD to be an FPSO regardless. It's what they agreed to in the farm-in deal.

I may have misunderstood something about the deal though.

"This from PMO surprised me yesterday - I thought they said they were looking at a tension leg platform instead of an FPSO on cost grounds"

not sure as to why the surprise, agna. i believe they said, the tlp over an fpso option had just been brought to their attention. and they were reviewing the costs and developmental changes. for me its just a lie. (surely anyone within the industry would be looking at ALL options from the start.) its just a ploy to delay things a little to allow PMO to get their finances in the desired position. given the failure to get some of the north sea production up to wished for position, and given the rule change with regards the fdp to the fig, changed to april 2015 i think. their taking advantage of the option.... imo of course...

Hiya Highlander - yep. Still here and waiting.
I only hold DES now. I sold out of RKH on the deal with PMO.
I thought I'd done really well to hold all my DES (far too many) at average 20p
I thought they couldn't fall back to much worse than 17p at most.
Wrong again. :)

The data room's been open 6 months now - and still no rumours about a partner.
I'm personally still hoping they sell out all together.

This from PMO surprised me yesterday - I thought they said they were looking at a tension leg platform instead of an FPSO on cost grounds -
but they also mention exploration targets - which includes the RKH share of the DES targets.

But there won't be a rig until FI summer 2014 I believe.

And to recap on DES territory

hxxp://www.desireplc.co.uk/images/uploaded/8897534_8897534.pdf

There are some views that DES won't do anything but sit and wait for RKH to finish their exploration and prove the geology, While that degree of inaction wouldn't surprise me from DES -
I think they will sell out before then. Either that -or hopefully have a farm in partner who will fund their share of a rig.

Whatever happens - I can't see DES and RKH existing in a couple of years.

The interims should be sometime next week - I think the word is 16th August - but don't hold your breath or anything - it's DES.

I think the SFB will have a rig before the NFB - but I still can't see the NFB rig sharing. Wrong kind of rig and (more importantly) wrong kind of price.
DES and ARG just don't have the cash for that - and PMO seems to be a bit skint. At least - I thought that when they talked about a leg platform instead of an FPSO.

How are those Kurdies doing for you?
I've not been tempted to trade in and out at all this year. Getting lazy -and old :)

I had to un-filter to see what Walter was pointing at, Efagie -
so I sort of knew what to expect.
Filter back on.
I was surprised it wasn't censored, as I thought there was a language censor on all these forums.

And you're right - there's no need to post it like that.

I'm here - but crumbling to dust waiting for news - like a mummy in a B-movie horror. I'll re-animate once there's news, so long as someone reads to me from the Book of the Dead,of course. Interims are next week I believe. ;)

Efagie -
not that I'd heard - I heard about a temporary harbour/port being constructed until the main new deeper harbour is built. The temp one was to be dismantled after the permanent one was in use. Obviously FIG want to keep control of their environment. I've no idea how/if it's been settled or compromises that may have been made.
