So since the report below:- We have actually found double the amount of gas and added the bonus of oil, also a change in attitude towards energy security (Rosebank green light) yet were are sitting at market capital of £24.5 mill.Oh and gas at £1.04 a therm not .80p

The Shell-operated Pensacola well (Deltic WI: 30%) in the Southern North Sea is fully-funded and due to spud in October 2022 using the Maersk Resilient rig. The Company estimates that Pensacola has a gross P50 prospective resource of 309 BCF

with a geological change of success ("GCoS") of 55% and an unrisked post tax project net present value ("NPV") of $553 million gross ($166 million net to Deltic), calculated based on a gas price of 80 pence per therm.

Jefferies analyst Mark Wilson said the decision was a positive "for the UK North Sea offshore sector as a whole".

Think the news yesterday about the gas boilers was good news
Sunak must have told the boss of shell the same news at their meeting
Uk will need gas for the the next 15 plus years now hopefully Deltic can get attract new investment or maybe shell could just buy us the would save a fortune if Selene works out to be good

...Unless they come up with a favourable monetisation, which I think has been mentioned.

edit: right at the end - "In line with the Company's stated strategy, Deltic has also commenced a formal process to pursue the value crystallisation options that exist for the Pensacola discovery which may involve monetisation and/or farm down of its equity interest in the Pensacola discovery."

These are not my words but those of a company who's opinion I totally agree with and could not have said it better. This is a very long term position, sadly.

Investors may need to put more money into it before they can profitably take it out.The company has £9.1 million in cash (as of 30 June 2023). It is expected that it will spend a total of £14.1 million this year and £19.5 million next year. That means the company will have to sell additional shares to raise the capital required for its portion of the drilling programme at the Pensacola field. There is no question the gas is in place. However, getting the resource to a position where gas will flow is expensive. That is going to take both time and money before profits start to roll in.The reason the share is underperforming so acutely is because investors will not buy before the dilution event occurs. When it passes, I expect the share to begin recovering.
