                                 BOARD CHANGES


Delta plc announces today that Sir Martin Jacomb will be retiring as Chairman
and from the board on 31 December 2003.  Sir Philip Beck, who has served on the
Board for more than 9 years, has also expressed his intention to retire no later
than the next AGM in May 2004.

Sir Martin will be succeeded as Non-Executive Chairman by Mr Edouard Stern who
joined the Board in May of this year and who controls, through various holdings,
just under 26% of Delta's ordinary share capital.

The process to recruit two independent non-executive directors to join the Board
is underway. These new appointments will ensure that there is a majority of
independent non-executive directors on the board.
