When these highly valued stocks on a crazy p.e disappoint, they do get hit.

The beneficial impact of Covid is not to be underestimated but the company has clearly done a lot to enhance margins by operational improvements.the shares have been very strong since the interims and a pullback was to be expected especially since there may have anticipatory buying ahead of FTSE 100 inclusion which ultimately failed to occur. The buy case remains very much in tact.OutlookAs we start the new financial year trading remains strong with the momentum and market penetration seen in the second half of the prior financial year continuing. We have made significant operational improvements by strengthening our infrastructure and by investment in our greatest resource, our people. Although COVID-19 related travel restrictions have limited acquisition activity, we have still been able to identify and progress numerous strategic opportunities to strengthen our product portfolio and development pipeline. We therefore remain confident in our ability to successfully execute our strategy and in our future prospects.

Dechra narrowly missed out on promotion to FTSE 100 which partly explains price weakness on Friday.Final figures tomorrow,6 Sept.

DPH is being touted for a potential promotion to the FTSE100.
This is because BHP is delisting and JET is reclassified as non-UK because most trading is now is US following a takeover.

I won't post any more ATHs so much as it seems a) I maybe alone and b) it won't go up for ever and c) it may be winding people up. Suffice to say I'm still holding a full sized position - good luck to those that have continued holding

And another - it has taken me quite a few years to psychologically be able to keep holding a full position as it grinds up. I will suffer at some point but it's already gone a long way up since people were bailing, calling tops etc

There is only one reason this is continuing to climb, it’s not take over possibilities, not cash position or product demand, it’s simply because……;……̷0;…I sold!!!

Another closing ATH. I never argue with a share doing this. Still holding full position

The stock commands a substantial premium in the UK simply because it enjoys good cash flow and solid product demand. As evidenced by the relatively flat performance of the FTSE 100 over the last twenty years, the UK simply doesn’t have the same number of companies likely to enjoy high sustained growth that you can find in the US for example. You can buy a cyclical like BHP ,a steady eddy like Legal & General or even a company like BATs which became by default the most consistent FTSE 100 outperformer for a decade post the tech crash. However, that you might in the recent past have had to consider buying a cigarette manufacturer to achieve outperformance, sort of confirms the lack of good investment opportunities in the UK!Thing is,a conglomerate somewhere in the world, might want to snap up Dechra for the earnings surety it can provide. All that said, the rating is heady.

Still holding full position. Never predict but just ride the trend. Market can keep going up further than expected regardless of all the research, analysis etc that a lot of people do

I bailed at 3600 thinking it was getting too frothy...and regret it!Very hard to justify this price however the business is growing consistently and so long as it keeps it up, one could argue the price is valid. I wouldn't buy back at this level but I'd probably hold until the price starts to show weakness.

I suppose the buyers who crunch the numbers are banking on continued further growth. And the momentum buyers follow in their slipstream.

I switched out of Dechra into Hikma may be wrong had a good run on this.Hopefully Hikma Pharmaceuticals do the same, just feel more upside on a low valuation.
