the point being that this does have take-over potential, empasised by yestedays ACG bid approach by several bidders (not just one) and the fact that everyone has known, all year long, that the IVA industry is ripe for consolidation.

Its just a gamble to see who the winners are.

which is why i also said "But DEBT do still owe a good sum of money so this is still very risk.....seems like a reasonable gamble, albeit only with money you can afford to lose."

No it doesnt stack up. Market cap is £7m already and lot of deferred still to pay on the loan business. Cant see much of a premium here.

And subprime lending is being shut down.

If Accuma has had several bidding approaches, one will win and the rest would look eleswhere, ie go for Debtmatters. And as the shares mag above says, debtmatters is a strong candidate given its share price is too low. no brainer there.

wookie,

of course it does.

if you know anytrhing at all about the IVA sector then you will know that many analysts have been saying all year long that this sector is ripe for consolidation leaving just a few players.

IVA downgrades

Investors are being warned to brace themselves for earnings downgrades from Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) providers Debts.co.uk (DETS:AIM) and Debt Free Direct (DFD:AIM). This follows Monday's dire trading update from Debtmatters (DEBT:AIM).

Debtmatters warned it 'may no longer be able to deliver IVAs profitably.' A strategic review is underway and management admits a sale is being considered. This follows a continued tightening in terms from borrowers who object to fee levels taken by IVA providers.

Roger Tejwani, analyst at Debt Free Direct's house broker Numis, says: 'We flag the downgrade potential at November's interims.' Meanwhile, Gerald Farr of Debts.co.uk's broker Seymour Pierce warns 'revenue numbers are probably a little high' for the £16 million cap.

Debtmatters plunged 70% on the day of its profit warning and has since fallen further to an all-time low of 16.75p. Tejwani, who fingers Debt Free Direct as a potential consolidator, earlier this week put a 100p take-out value on Debtmatters.

Shares says: Debt Free Direct and Debts.co.uk will eventually recover. Debtmatters offers a take out opportunity. SK

Sharecast - 11 Oct 07 TheMysteron

LONDON (SHARECAST) - Shares in personal debt consultant Accuma shot ahead as it confirmed that it has received a number of approaches which may or may not lead to an offer. The group said that discussions are at an early stage.

Accuma has issued two profit warnings this year blamed on tougher competition and as banks tightening up on the number of personal insolvencies they agree to.

Earlier this month two of Accuma's rivals, Debtmatters and Debts.co.uk, warned of increased competition, a fall in the number of Individual Voluntary Arrangement's approved in the sector and reduced fee levels.

Accuma cautioned in August that tougher competition was hitting the number of IVA referrals it was seeing.

Accuma Group (ACG), another IVA company, issued this RNS yesterday confirming they have "received a number of approaches which may or may not lead to an offer for the entire issued share capital of Accuma." See their RNS:

They finished trading on Wed night at 20p/23p with only 7 trades that day.
By the end of Thursday they finished at 29p/32p with 123 trades...a near 50% one day.

Here we go again, next leg up. Bid approach RNS to come like ACG.

===========================================

I might be wrong but i do not feel that is the case. I feel this is buyer pressure driven rather than leaked RNS driven. Yesterday ACG's price jumped approx 20% before the RNS and i feel that was the MM's rising it as the news had leaked.

This buying is on speculation of an offer being made here. For people who bought in here when no one else wanted to, like me buying sub 15p, if an offer is made this speculation is only helping boost the price.

Here's hoping.

Regards
IHNC
