tom111 - yes, I think so too. Sweetened bid, for that matter an actual bid, and closure of the arbitrage spread.

Note out from Cazenova.........

The electricals market in France is more fragmented
than that in the UK for example. We estimate that Darty has a market
share of c.15% in France, versus Dixons in the UK with c.30%.
Combining two of the leading French players, in our view, would therefore
be sensible, particularly given the highly commoditized and competitive
nature of the category. Fnac has commented that it believes a deal would
offer “significant synergies”. Our first take is therefore that there is a high
chance of the acquisition taking place.

Filter him - bitter little kid imo.

He's only getting replies from people that tell him what a nutter he is - or replies from his other handles like dlku - dik-head more like :-0

Wipe that mess off your poster off me mike740, the ink will run :-)

Nice bit of action. Price now moving up after people have digested what was written in the Darty response rather than just the headline terms. My reading is, 'yes, we can do a deal, once management has been sorted out. At the same time throw a couple more bones at the shareholders so they nod it through.'
