12/3/2024 12:38 | Added some more at 1115, bit of a gamble on the CMA outcome but long term there will be no issue. | hbuilder
12/3/2024 12:29 | Dear Bulltradept, Ooh looks like I touched a nerve. I was actually responding to Lean5gb who I agreed with. Whether you pay for this service or not doesn’t really make a difference though, your comment was irrelevant and unnecessary. By the way, you have failed to actually answer the question I posed…? Love from, Your Pauper Brit | hbuilder
12/3/2024 12:10 | Meanwhile, all the pets bought in the pandemic should keep the vets busy as they age presumably. On the other hand, lots of uncertainty for an indefinite period now while the CMA deliberates and responses obtained. Huge amount of objections already being considered. | 1c3479z
12/3/2024 12:01 | hbuilder1 "I knew that would be a reply, and rightly so (not that I agree with this “woke” terminology), this chat should be about shares, not irrelevant comments about how many Brits are left in Britain." I pay for this service half wit, if I want to make comments on this board I will, so foxtrot oscar you scrounger with your pauper's subscription. | bulltradept
12/3/2024 11:53 | some defence of their practice on r4 this morning, 'when a petowner turns up the vet doesn't necessarily know right away what's wrong so unrealistic to give a fixed cost until investigations complete and diagnosis available'. 'For sterilisation procedures and other ops, depends greatly on the size of the animal etc' Seems there may be some action on drug pricing, possibly also on divesting practices in certain localities but difficult for the CMA to intervene ,one would have thought, over the costs of investigations and vet's time- they're highly trained professionals so their time is expensive and they know best what's in the animal's interest. | 1c3479z
12/3/2024 11:34 | added again .. rude not to. Pets at home does not seem to be getting the same treatment today. taking advantage. | undervaluedassets
12/3/2024 11:19 | I knew that would be a reply, and rightly so (not that I agree with this “woke” terminology), this chat should be about shares, not irrelevant comments about how many Brits are left in Britain, especially when I suspect bulltrade is unlikely to be able to actually tell us the answer to my question. | hbuilder
12/3/2024 10:53 | Lets leave the 'woke' ethics where it belongs. Certainly not here.! | lean5gb
12/3/2024 10:36 | bulltradept - please can you define what you think qualifies as a ‘Brit’ as I though there were plenty of Brits living in Britain?! | hbuilder
12/3/2024 10:32 | the response shows some (growling teeth) by the company. tempted, not holding. | tsmith2
12/3/2024 09:48 | Pets have shops too. | babbler
12/3/2024 09:45 | Added, again. | lomax99
12/3/2024 09:23 | Overdone. This is old news re-issued. Properly cheap now Have watched and admired CVSG for years but the multiple was always too big for me. (pe of 127 and 80 in 2020 and 2021 respectively) On a current pe of 20 and with a pe of 15 pencilled for 2024 this is now a looks a reasonable punt The 16 million pet owners are a huge addressable market which is not disappearing and into which the company can grow. | undervaluedassets
12/3/2024 08:55 | AIM V LSE ? | bulltradept
12/3/2024 08:54 | PETS is down 1% this is down 20% - what am I missing | tsmith2
12/3/2024 08:35 | Hardly given that we Brits (if there still are any), love their pets. | bulltradept
12/3/2024 08:33 | As per the FY23 annual report, they had 472 UK practices, 27 international (ROI, NL) and 13 newly acquired in AUS, so the UK is 90% of it's business. Add in the large debt pile they've built over the last few years and the market reaction appears completely logical. | 74tom
12/3/2024 08:33 | 12 March 2024 CVS Group plc ("CVS" or the "Company" and, together with its subsidiaries, the "Group") Response to CMA update on their review into the veterinary services market Following the announcement by the Competition and Markets Authority ("CMA") this morning, CVS notes the commencement by the CMA of a consultation on a proposal to make a market investigation reference in relation to veterinary services for household pets in the UK. CVS has engaged constructively and proactively with the CMA throughout its review. As the announcement today cites, CVS along with certain other corporate groups who together own around 50% of First Opinion Practices ("FOPs") in the UK, has already engaged constructively with the CMA and put forward a package of possible remedies to address its concerns. CVS continues to believe this package could be adopted across the market and could address the CMA's concerns more quickly than an 18-month investigation. CVS will continue to work proactively with the CMA as the consultation progresses up until 11 April 2024. We look forward to the CMA announcing a further update subsequent to that.
