23/9/2013 18:22 | Wouldn't be surprised if Toscafund take this private tomorrow | cammy3
23/9/2013 18:17 | Numis has a buy rating with £3 price target. Going to be fun tomorrow | cammy3
23/9/2013 16:30 | Good luck for tomorrow, all those who are long :-) | saucepan
23/9/2013 16:30 | J777J why does providing a link to an article automatically make someone a shorter? You're clearly judging everybody by your own standards. In addition to the link I posted there was a tv documentary about CUP being no more than a bunch of scammers. For the record I do not hold a short position nor a long one. | gerhux
23/9/2013 15:57 | Toscafund would appear to be a hedge fund who specialise in passive investment in troubled companies. Presumably they do plenty of research before investing and try to miss the basket cases. Hopefully they have found a winner here, although I guess their strategy almost guarantees some disasters that are more than balanced by some significant winners. | lej2
23/9/2013 15:40 | Special dividend tomorrow please. | cammy3
23/9/2013 12:44 | come...on....spike to 120.0p already...lol | wylecoyote
23/9/2013 12:24 | Even better. | j777j
23/9/2013 12:23 | regardless of what happens, the stock is cheap and the original sell off(in my opinion) was irrational. This is a business that is a viable going concern for the moment. They were forced to change the structure of the business and sell off the 'saucy'- yet cash generative side of the business. I would expect some cash to be returned to the shareholders at some point. | wylecoyote
23/9/2013 12:20 | Yes, the 'big boys' have been stake building, which I think provides a clue as to which way this is likely to be break; hence my current long position. | saucepan
23/9/2013 12:00 | I think it will drift, the damage has been done. Who wants to invest in a company that allegations of cheating customers. Certainly not the big boys, just private investors. | lennonsalive
23/9/2013 11:57 | It seems to me that things can go one of two ways; the results stink, all the fears about this company and its ongoing integrity turn out to be vindicated, there's fresh reputational damage from whatever quarter, and the share price bombs. Or, the results mark the long-delayed turnaround, with all the bad news already factored in, negative issues properly addressed, good numbers, a decent strategy going forward, and a line drawn under the problems of the past. I can't see these results as being boring, leaving the share price continuing to flatline, is what I'm trying to say. We'll see... | dashton42
23/9/2013 11:40 | Results tomorrow, not Thursday. | saucepan
23/9/2013 11:14 | The shorts hard at work as Thursday could be full of surprises. They can do better than undated articles surely? | j777j
23/9/2013 11:10 | Do leopards change their spots? | gerhux
23/9/2013 09:58 | gerhux, I wonder how old that article is? Some of the comments on there are more than 2 years old. | wylecoyote
21/9/2013 12:29 | Not so happy to see this morning on Sky news reports of inadequate screening of stalkers, etc. by internet dating cos., I'm hoping that Cupid will emphasise that they clearly mark on their sites methods for deleting undesirable profiles to individuals using their platforms, and that those profiles are soon refused access to the specific sites. | bookbroker
21/9/2013 10:48 | DC74, 180p = £127.7m market cap Turnover = c.£30m PBT = ? Net Cash = £10m to £15m Deferred Consideration = £28.5m + £2m for the software licence. Can you share your figures for how CUP is worth £127.7m before the deferred income. My very rough calculations give fair value at around £73m: Net Cash £12.5m + Deferred/Licence £30.5M + Value of Remaining Dating Sites £30m = Total: £73m = 102p fair value share price target. *The deferred should really be discounted due to the risk that the new owner will not be able to meet all the obligations. | simon gordon
21/9/2013 00:56 | Have been all over the accounts this afternoon and very long in this share and I still get to £1.80 a share as fair value before the income from the sale of the casual business. The marketing is no different to that of match and E-harmony who are the leaders in this market and that is from a punter as well as an investor. Good luck to all who are long on Tuesday, I think our patience will be rewarded | dc74
20/9/2013 19:00 | If the results are good I would imagine a bounce of 10% or so on the day and I am happy to pass up on that initial bounce given that there will still be plenty of room for it to climb from that point. | salpara111
20/9/2013 07:02 | Isn't it normally too late by then? | wylecoyote
20/9/2013 06:58 | It was only 5/6 months ago when Dobbie piled in near on £1m at £1.14 per share, I also think the results could see it back over £1 but am with Salp on waiting to see the numbers. | silverbuck |
