08/10/2004 10:45 | Could be someone like Johnson & Johnson but that's a pure guess, someone US seems likely.Next year eps consensus around 12p puts stock on exit multiple of over 30x and bearing in mind that Smith & Nephew is on a PE of around 20x,well there's your 50% premium so i don't think there's much left to go for. | steeplejack
08/10/2004 10:05 | very difficult to say, but a premium of at least 50% on 300pence might go through. So that would give 450pence. But, really, I have no idea; Corin's management know the inside story here re likely US sales development and, if the bidder is located in the US, then they may also be pretty well clued up; so shareholders may benefit from such well-informed views, in such an agreed offer scenario... 23/9/2004 08:38 | yep, steady trading improvement for now, but the potential jewel here that has captured attention is the USA, now just over 10% of total sales, but growing pretty quickly (+91% YOY). However, if Cormet (hip replacement) and other products can gain US approval (and this looks pretty likely), the financial impact will be significant. A year plus away yet, though; but then again, if things in the US do develop as expected, Corin will command a much higher mkt valuation once these additional income flows are secured. So my guess is that shareholders will see pretty decent returns as visibility here improves. David | holidayfunds

25/6/2004 08:08 | Corin Group PLC 25 June 2004 Corin Group Plc AGM Statement Corin Group PLC ('Corin' or 'the Group'), a leading innovative developer, manufacturer and global distributor of a wide range of reconstructive orthopaedic devices, is holding its AGM later this morning. The Chairman of Corin, Graeme Hart, will make the following statement. 'The Group continues to trade in line with the Board's expectations. Our USA business, in particular, is having a positive first half, as the distribution channels developed over the last 12 months begin to bear fruit. 'We are also encouraged by the outcome of a recent FDA panel meeting. Shareholders will recall that Corin is currently pursuing an FDA approved clinical trial relating to its Rotaglide + mobile bearing knee system for which approval has been anticipated to be granted in 2007/8. 'Earlier this month, an FDA panel voted in favour of an industry proposal to down-classify both total and unicondylar mobile bearing knees and their recommendation has now been passed through to the FDA for approval. If approved, it would eliminate the need for a lengthy clinical trial to achieve product approval. 'Corin believes it is likely that a down-classification of mobile bearing knees will occur, although the FDA has not confirmed the likely time scale. However, the Group does anticipate that it will have the opportunity to sell both the Rotaglide + total knee and the AMC Uniglide unicondylar knee in the USA earlier than previously expected.' 25 June 2004 Enquiries: Corin Group PLC 01285 659866 Ian Paling, Chief Executive Simon Hartley, Finance Director College Hill 020 7457 2020 Adrian Duffield Clare Warren This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange | keifer derrin
