12/8/2013 15:27 | In Sharecast. Conviviality is a good bet on the UK's fondness for drinking at home, the Mail on Sunday's Midas column said. The company, headed by former Waitrose and Sainsbury's manager Diana Hunter, can provide solid returns for long-term investors. Conviviality stores, branded as Bargain Booze, are run by franchisees who got a stake in the company at flotation. It uses buying power to undercut supermarkets by a claimed 15%. With room to expand into the south and a master of wine on board to grow beyond beer and cider, the shares are a buy and hold, Midas said. | thepsychic

07/8/2013 20:41 | Conviviality Retail the company behind off-licence chain Bargain Booze joined London's junior market on Wednesday. The Bargain Booze owner placed 64mln shares at £1 each, valuing the company at £66.7mln. But shares are already changing hands for as much as 130p, adding £20mln to its market value. Trades on the opening day were as large as £640,000 a pop as investors backed the company to be a hit on AIM. The £64mln raised from the IPO is expected to fund its expansion in the south-east of England as it aims to replicate the success of its stores in the north-east. "We are delighted to be starting life as a public company today and welcome all of our new shareholders to the company," said chief executive Diana Hunter, who previously worked in store development for Waitrose and masterminded its Little Waitrose format. "We have an exciting future ahead of us with our new debt free capital structure, an incentivisation plan that aligns our 461 franchisees with management and our shareholders and capital to expand our footprint of stores from our heartland in the North West." | battlebus2
07/8/2013 20:38 | Good to see Hargreave Hale with a holding albeit small. Also a note out from edison highlighting earnings forecasts and an intended dividend of 8% which could still be over 5% after the increase in share price. hxxp://www.edisoninv | battlebus2
