Interesting but doesnt really help sorry. When CNM paying there dividends they quote them in AUS dollars but they pay us UK shareholders in sterling.I'm hoping they do the same otherwise if i receive a cheque in AUS dollars it will be a pain cause u end up losing any benefit in the transfer between currency's.
Is everyones feeling that this is pretty much the end of the line for this company now ie its a dead cert Palmary are gonna walk away with the prize??

Thamks for replying

Leader, I am still here.

It may be sentimentality on my part (if so, not good).

I was "here" long before these shares were traded on AIM (bought from UK in Aus, less foresight than circumstances suggesting to me it was a good idea to do so).

I hope to retain my current CNM(AIM)/CSM(ASX) shareholding after Palmary has bought what it is able. I accept it may not be my decision (depending upon how big a percentage Palmary buys). So be it.

I am prepared to have a significant downturn in the price for some time after. I have sold more than 1/2 of my shares in the market very recently so I have benefited from the recent exuberant price. I have already received around 10 times what I purchased all my single holding for from my part sale, so I shall not be disgruntled if I lose on future dealings, or if I were to lose all my shareholding. No need to be greedy about such matters.

I do not mind being a minnow in a company where only a small proportion of the shareholding is available to make a market. It has not been a problem for me for UK based companies historically, so I hope it will not be for this Aus based company, if that is the position in future.

I do not suggest that other people adopt my approach. IN fact, I suggest they should not do so.

Worrying report in today's Sydney Morning Herald (www.smh.com.au) that Palmary,in spite of their denial, are holders of the mystery 17% directly or indirectly, wholly or in part, and are in breach of more than one Australian law/regulation. SMH opines that Gilbertson is now "in the driving seat". Hope this doesn't mean he gets CNM for A$4.5! Don't bother looking for the article - it seems to have been removed - but I do not believe I was dreaming - it was there and has caused me to sell my holfing! I went back to look for it to solve the mystery of why it hadn't influenced the price in Oz last night and found it had disappeared. However I now find a replacement mainly about Pallinghurst's tactics being deemed improper which seems to confirm that there is evidence linking the Palmary bid with the "mystery stake". But the very strong comment has gone.

TET,PEY,PWT,DAY,AVN,PGF.

Yes the dividend appear too good to be true don`t they. Most of them are more focussed on nat gas than oil though which i favour . Judging by the price action when PWT took over Vault i expect to see a drop today so i will be topping up again if it occurs. For your interest there is an interview with Bill Andrew,President of Penn West on the link below after the Zapata George interview which is mostly about Nat Gas.

everything is going right for CNM at the moment ... just outstandingly so. It is clearly in play I wouldn't rule out another bid yet.! Still holding

The latest offer from Pallinghurst does little to clarify the situation. It begins to look as if they are trying to squeeze a bit more out of Palmary - and that the Australian market expects that they will do so. Hopes that another bidder may emerge seem to be fading.

What would be helpful is an up to date trading statement from CNM but I cannot work out when that might be due.

Interesting move just now. CNM usually follows Australia.

Having been in profit from GBP 0.95 I've sat with this all the way up, determined to stay 'till the bitter(or sweet) end. I do still think there could be another offer, and final price could be in GBP 2.00 - 2.25 range ...but it could also end up selling at GBP 1.80 - 2.00 once all said and done. So I'm out today. It would annoy me more to loose some current profits than it would please me to make (at most) 10% more (assuming my numbers above are realistic). Best of luck to all still in, and MASSIVE thanks to all you activist CNM investors who have forced the issues and facts onto the table, to bring this share up to a decent selling price. I hope the only loosers from here are the incompetant CNM managers.

Phillis: regarding your comments
"What does Big T stand for... or is that a silly question?
Read the second paragraph of today's RNS"

I'd tell you if I thought you really wanted to know! Perhaps we could all guess, ...and sugest completions for the phrase "Phill is ..."
And FYI, I asked my question rushing between meetings, before I'd had a chance to read the RNS news that came out just an hour or so earlier.
...all good fun :-)

Anyhow, my oversight and your less-than-generous response just serve to illustrate how quickly things are moving re CNM. In such a torrid environment with so much interest from bidders, it seems unlikely we've hit a ceiling in share price quite yet. So I'm staying heavily invested for now.

The question I'm now starting to ponder is what happens after bidder X gets CNM. Are we likely to see a drop in share price whilst their plans are polished and communicated, or a further bounce (and in what time frame). Many unknowns make this a hard call right now, but I am surprised to see Palmary stating that the fair value of CNM (according to 'independent experts') is only AUD 2.32-2.77

Please someone decode this announcement for me, remembering I am UK investor with CNM shares on the AIM...

" Pallinghurst has decided to withdraw its standing on-market order on the ASX to acquire upto 11.35 million Consolidated Minerals shares at $3.30. The withdrawal will be effective after the close of trading on the ASX tomorrow. Consolidated Minerals shareholders that wish receive early payment for their shares (that is, within 3 business days), must seel into the on-market order by 4.10pm on Friday August 2007.
The Pallinghurst off-market takeover offer for Consolidated Minerals (Pallinghurst cash offer) will remain open after this time, but is scheduled to close at 7.00pm (Melbourne time) on 1 September 2007 (unless extended). Shareholders that accept the Pallinghurst Cash Offer will receive payment within one month after the later of teh date taht they accept and the date that the Pallinghurst Cash Offer becomes unconditionnal or in any event no later than 21 days after the end of the offer period (assuming the offer becomes unconditional)."

I note that in the 6 August Corporate Action letter I received, the deadline for registering my YES vote is 24 August.

So please confirm or correct my interpretation that:
Being a UK/AIM investor my only mechanism for getting their $3.30 per share was to register YES to Pallinghurst's bid for CNM. I never did have the option of selling shares on market for that price whilst not voting YES, since this option is restricted to Aussie market [though of course, selling them shares = sellinges votes]. So, despite their recent announcement, I still have the option of voting YES and will the get $3.30 per share assuming the overall Pallinghurst bid for CSM is eventually successful (assuming it is not withrawn ater 1st September).

Also, any info I've missed regarding...?
- when now will the Pallinghurst bid be voted on?
- anything new from Kiernen?

Thanks in anticipation of help!!
