CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT I am delighted to report record sales and profits for the six months to 31 October 2002. The inherent strength of our sales proposition has lead to significant new customer wins. This has resulted in sales growth of over 50%, half on half, and a near four-fold increase in pre-tax profits. Contracted revenues have grown strongly and we are confident that this growth will continue in the second half with new multi-year contracts expected to start in first quarter of calendar 2003. Turnover during the half was £26.7 million, an increase of 58% on the comparable period last year (2001/2 H1 £16.9 million). Pre-tax profits increased 389% to £0.74 million (2001/2 H1 £0.15 million). Cash flow from operating activities of £1.6 million led to net cash of £5.1 million at 31 October 2002. Earnings per share rose four-fold to 5.2p (2001/2 H1 1.1p). ComputerLand specialises in the provision of Essential IT Services to corporate and public sector clients. Essential IT Services are the services that organisations require to ensure that their IT infrastructure continues to operate smoothly. Examples of Essential IT Services are IT helpdesks, network support and hardware maintenance. These types of service are less sensitive to the general economic climate than more discretionary services. Traditionally, companies have performed most Essential IT Services "in house". There is, however, an increasing trend to outsource these services. ComputerLand is often able to help organisations wishing to outsource, by combining higher service levels with lower costs. Organisations typically look for a single supplier to provide a range of IT services. These services might include the supply and installation of new IT equipment, the design and deployment of new IT systems, and the ongoing support of their end-users and network infrastructures. ComputerLand has developed a range of service products that enable us to provide a "one stop shop" to our clients. Employees During the recent period of substantial growth we have continued to deliver the highest standards of customer service. With this in mind I would like to thank all our staff for their dedication, professionalism, and loyalty during the past six months. Dividend Our excellent performance combined with strong cash generation and confidence in the future enables us to increase the interim dividend by 37.5% to 1.1p per share. The interim dividend will be paid on 3 March 2003 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 7 February 2003. Outlook The Group has significant potential to expand its presence in the market for essential IT services. Your Board therefore looks forward to the future with confidence. | cmillar
10/12/2002 17:51 | I agree too. I notice that Northgate and other Service solution providers are all talking about full order books. Also note that Glaxo Smithkline are looking at outsourcing their IT function. I think we could be in for a very pleasant surprise tomorrow....... | cmillar
10/12/2002 13:13 | Totally agree. It is all about bottom line and I think CPU are about to undeline that fact!! | valentine
10/12/2002 09:56 | I wonder if anyone is?? Too shell-shocked elsewhere, perhaps? They can't understand cos that make a genuine profit. Rare Bird in this environment! | valentine
09/12/2002 16:17 | if anyone is interested that is ! | recruiter
09/12/2002 08:45 | one to watch this week I feel. | recruiter

06/12/2002 13:40 | be very nice to see some press for this stock over the weekend. Perhaps Midas in Sunday mail ? | recruiter
05/12/2002 11:25 | I agree. However, in this market, if you bought below 70p then you have made a nice profit so good luck to them :) I would expect H1 EPS to match or exceed EPS for FY 2001 and would also expect a continuation of the bullish trading statement made recently. It would be disappointing for the tune to change so rapdily in a couple of months. DR | drdre
05/12/2002 09:52 | why would anyone sell when results are so close ? Crazy, the more I have looked into this, the more I realise this is almost a no-brainer. | recruiter
05/12/2002 09:01 | Maybe CM can help you...if he chooses to, of course? You have to take a little risk sometime! | valentine
05/12/2002 08:39 | so guys what do you expect profit to be ? Be nice to get a strong & positive statement for the outlook aswell. Shares have done well it seems (comparitively) since Trading Statement, but should have done a lot better really. The word neeeds spreading, people should get out of the dross like your NSB's, OCH's & buy something which has low pe, strong cash position, limited downside, tons of upside....like .................... Will it pass 100p soon ? | recruiter
04/12/2002 16:37 | and a bit!!! | valentine
04/12/2002 15:20 | Hi, new to the stock in the last few days. Like everything I have read, particularly the investtech chart stating that there is little resistance to 140p. Do you think that CPU may surpass the £800K profit mark ? | recruiter
02/12/2002 17:14 | Top stuff mate!! Do you write their blurb?! | valentine
02/12/2002 17:11 | Gotta love this chart ;-) | cmillar
29/11/2002 17:41 | Well spotted Chris. Keep it up. Ta! | valentine
29/11/2002 10:49 | DrDre, Couldn't agree with you more. With the size of this company extra profits of 100k / 200k make a big difference to EPS and PE. Roll on Dec 11th. | cmillar
28/11/2002 15:57 | I have come across these and they look very interesting. Very upbeat trading statement, EPS forecasts of 7.1p for 2003, P/E of 10. Cash of £4m vs mkt cap of £7.4m. Results out 11 december. Very little volumes so any significant trades will have a major impact. All the best, all IMHO DR | drdre
01/11/2002 07:46 | Helloooooooo... anybody out there ?? Am I the only one holding this share ?? | kaffee |
