RNS Number:4008E Compact Power Holdings PLC 12 June 2006 For Immediate Release 12 June 2006 COMPACT POWER HOLDINGS PLC Board Appointment Compact Power Holdings plc ("Compact Power"), the AIM listed waste and biomass to energy company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr David Weaver as a Non-Executive Director. Mr Weaver, 57, a Fellow of the Energy Institute and a founder member of the Institute of Petroleum Engineers, also a Chartered Engineer in Australia, has spent his professional career in the energy industry. He was latterly at BP where he was Managing Director (Europe) of BP Gas, Power and Renewables from 2000 to 2003 and previously President and CEO Europe, of Duke Energy International, one of the USA's largest gas and power enterprises. Prior to Duke Energy, he was Chief Executive Officer, International, of CMS Energy Inc. a large US utility company. Mr Weaver currently holds directorships of System Capital Management, an Eastern and Central European financial group with interests in steel manufacturing, electricity distribution and power grid networks and is Chairman of EnviroResource Group, a company developing and promoting new environmental solutions for waste and energy in the industrial and municipal sectors worldwide. EnviroResources has recently invested #1million in Compact Power and is actively promoting the Compact Power technology for projects in various parts of the world. Commenting on the appointment, Nic Cooper, Chairman of Compact Power said: "David Weaver is a highly qualified energy professional with experience at the highest level and an international reputation.
