12bn - are you using your experience with KOD to warn us about Pre-Placing share movement - if so how come you were urging readers to buy that right up to the announcement- you are such a naughty boy 12bn!

Great to see you back on the board 12bn after that absence following the KOD Placing - it must have been a big blow but you must show resilience in the wake of adversity otherwise people might think you are just some sort of say anything boiler room scumbag 12bn!

What price the placing 12bn? It could be as low as 3.5p but 4p is more likely 12bn,imo

What's the story with the 500k sells 12bn,is it Lind? No,not imo,it looks like a placing deal has been done and this is pre-placing sell off, imo.

Rossannan, you'd be pleased that I didn't thumb it down!!... yet!!!

There are far too many assumptions that you have thrown in to that post. I haven't got a clue what the cash balance is likely to be, all I am saying is that the numbers mean nothing unless supported by some meat on the capex bones. So until the details are made available, I would loathe to be 'little scared about" it.

Leo comes across as being VERY mindful of getting value for the hard earned pennies. I doubt he'd not provide a supporting case for any drop in bank balance.

I recognise that we are not cash rich yet to start paying full salaries of directors in real money, as we're probably kicking off the 2nd phase of our strategy. The new salary options are @ 5.1... that gives me confidence that they too are aligning their interests with the SH's.

A quality post well worth posting again.//////12bn,as LK isn't doing much for several months do you think PIs will lose interest here? Undoubtedly 12bn,the share price is at a massive premium to its value and that will worry the more astute. 12bn, do you think another placing will arrive here this year? Yes I do 12bn,the share price does not reflect a company who is losing £5m every 6 months,so while the share price is high I think more cash will be raised. It will be wrapped up to sound like money raised for acquisitions, drilling, etc but reality is that some of it will be used for running costs, imo. 12bn,we hear very little from LK and what we do hear usually down plays previous forecasts. I agree 12bn,I think LK ramped LGO/Cerp to get the share price up and put himself in a good position to raise funds. That sounds very cynical 12bn but also very likely. Nice to have a sensible conversation here today,it is a rarity on Cerp threads, thanks. :)

From the Malcys Blog

Leo Koot, Executive Chairman of Columbus Energy Resources

Columbus, the oil and gas producer and explorer is focused on onshore Trinidad with the ambition to grow in South America. "Our vision is to create a Company with a strong and sustained production base, providing a foundation of steady cashflow to allow Columbus to create further growth elsewhere.
In Q1 2018 we delivered value growth production, solid cashflows, and the South West Peninsula transaction on improved terms, all of which positions the Company to move onto the next stage of exciting growth through exploration and M&A activities.
We are confident that the SWP, which contains multiple mapped prospects each ranging in size from 20-400 mmbbls, has the potential to deliver transformational growth over the next 18 to 24 months."

Columbus Energy Resources
Columbus has announced that it is rolling over the practice of paying Directors and senior management partially in shares which will now be done at 5.1p. I think that there is little doubt that CERP are doing the correct thing here although the market has trimmed the shares this morning. Later this month I am on a panel with Leo Koot amongst others, the link is here and the evening should be most interesting…

True Holly. I'm just being greedy as I know they are stacked with money themselves especially Leo so would've been nice if you actually bought in the open market another couple million shares or something :-) One of The trades today would've been for about £11,000 and then an instant buyback as I bedded an isa ( upon reflection that does sound slightly peculiar lol) They sent me a notification email to say that been processed and they guaranteed a narrow as possible spread. It was money I had in my fund share account I thought stupid leave it there and would be a good idea to maximise this years ISA allowance for me has been a very much of a rarity to be able to fulfil a whole years entitlement!!

Yes, offerman, I'd like that too, but can't see it happening any time soon....seeing that half their money (salary) is already tied up in the company!!

Rossannan,

Considering your repeated defence of TXP on their finances, I find your comment about CERP's cash balance nothing short of subtle scare mongery. Hope you don't make your investment decisions based purely cash balance.

IMO, even if the cash balance has reduced tells you little unless you analyse what the capital is being used for. There's be an increase of headcount, Spain costs have been covered as have our 'smaller deals'. If the cash has been used to commence re-works in other field(s)...

19th March RNS:
"Now that the lease covering the Bonasse area has been secured for approximately 28 years, the Company plans to progress this opportunity over the entire SWP throughout 2018 and 2019 and is currently putting the necessary manpower and other resources in place to maximise the chance of success."

Clearly expenditure will have involved OTHER fields + activities, add to it the ongoing WF trials. To mitigate some of that, we're out of the 'death zone'.

So yes, cash flow would make an interesting read, but let's not just repeatedly mention the numbers......read them in context.

TG/Offerman - DL doesn't have a notifiable interest , by the last count NR had approx 93 million before consolidation and DL approx 180 million. After consolidation an approx joint holding of 13/14 million. So less that 2% jointly.

Morning all. Seems our 2 day rise got taken out in the 1st hour. I too can only assume the likes of LIND taking advantage. For PI's there's nothing to misinterpret from the RNS....the good thing is that the directors are still showing confidence and are happy to take their next year (50% salary) options at 5.1p.

Also..

"In taking this action, the Executive Directors and Executive Management members wish to continue to align themselves with the Company's shareholders and also reduce the Company's cash burn, thereby enabling these funds to be invested in other value-adding business opportunities."

good approach imo.

Morning TG Wow I didn't know that Aussies or foreigners in general don't have to declare their holdings etc. Well it could be him then selling it's been relentless for a few months now. Hope they get picked up by another IICan't see us going back to recent lows though of 4.2 if we do by some Miracle I might be tempted to buy more a lot more .

I wonder who the 500k sells belong to? Could be Lindt but could also be David Lenigas. Being Australian, there is no onus on him to issue a holdings RNS when he passes through 3% etc.
