Video interview with Stewart White

Stewart White, chief executive of Collagen Solutions PLC (LON:COS) tells Proactive Investors Chinese investment vehicle Cre8ive is an “excellent partner for us to expand our business in China”.
The AIM-quoted medical grade collagen group signed a new joint venture agreement on Tuesday, to open up the Chinese market to the company.
“The benefits of having this partnership and having the people on the ground in the country we believe will be significant in terms of achieving the right permits and access to import our material into China,” White says.
He adds the company is trying to “limit any risk on the downside and have what we hope will be an unlimited upside”.

Collagen Solutions to tap research market through Merck's networkShare 15:23 19 Apr 2016"Researchers need to know that the material they use in the laboratory is consistent"Collagen Solutions to tap research market through Merck's networkThe med-tech group is developing a range of collagen-based medical implantsCollagen Solutions plc (LON:COS) has agreed a supply with Merck Ag to use the pharma giant's distribution network to distribute its medical-grade collagen products. The med-tech group is developing a range of collagen-based medical implants and Stewart White, Collagen's chief executive, said the arrangement with the German major would also make its products available to the research market."Researchers need to know that the material they use in the laboratory is consistent and can be scaled up without any loss of quality or change in characteristics," he said.Collagen has previously struck a supply deal with Nasdaq-listed musculo-skeletal specialist Histogenics Corp (NASDAQ:HSGX) and licensed cartilage and bone implant ChondroMimetic from Orthomimetics and Cambridge Enterprise. Panmure Gordon added that Collagen's model is predicated, in part, on working with partners and customers engaged in product development at pre-approval stage.Doing this, means when products meet regulatory approvals and subsequent commercial launch the company's medical grade biomaterials are 'embedded' within the product specification.Provision of collagen to the worldwide research market offers excellent potential for Collagen Solutions' materials to be adopted and developed from the earliest stages of research and for researchers to be sure of continuity of supply/source as the product develops.

Any of these things are in the pipeline and could hit the market at any moment... Then again if you're negative of the company and its products for whatever reason then these could remain in the pipeline .. The growing customer base and associations and the product are enough for me for the time being to be patient.

Chinese partner to take the suite of products to the ginormous Chinese market place would also give huge traction to the company and share price .. Commensurate with forthcoming and ongoing contractual deals

Well imho the biggie which is in negotiation is the separate additional production facility purely to service the demands of one global blue chip medical device maker... That occurs we are cooking on collagen..

Well said and I agree. They went for an headline grabbing £100m mc and they may achieve that at some point.. Without a crystal ball who knows. Wherever there's a seller there is a buyer .. And the sale should lower legal and gen? As they have been reducing maybe simply due to the mechanics of their fund, they are reducing, helium rising stars added. Chairman has added, there is phenomenal news in the short term that will make people look and realise the business we have here.. And like you say a bigger fish May realise this also. Panmure reiterated the albeit reduced 10p buy target. The year end is upon us. Let's hope initially they have under egged the sales forecasts to slightly over achieve current forecasts at FY.

I agree with you Jacobjohn 7.The rewards in healthcare businesses can be slow to emerge however I do believe that COS is moving in the right direction. For portfolio reasons only I am advised that there have been at least 2 large sellers around of late however with today's disposal of 2m. shares this tap might now be complete. It will be interesting to see the identity of the buyer if an announcement has to be made;I understand the Chairman could well be a buyer in the new tax year.
It has to be admitted however that the company was clearly wrong in making the very optimistic turnover forecasts it made public on day 1; this the company regrets and will in the future I understand adhere to a policy of underforecasting and overachieving.
To summarise, patience will be rewarded and even if certain parties' wildest aspirations are not realised there is already a good little business here that could be sold on.Have a little faith.

You know, I don't know why they bother to make announcements such as these. They are long term, and have no, absolutely no, impact on the business, its invest-
ability, or its valuation even in the mid term. If there was any impact in the distant future it would be a long forgotten announcement by then. What I do know is this outfit has, so far, lost me over half of the money I invested with them. That's my fault and my responsibility and risk for sure but my investment decision was based on the science, company projections which were missed and faith in executive and non-executive senior management that has proved to be misplaced. Imagine how cluttered the air waves would be if other companies trotted out news of every collaboration or optimistic projection they experienced. There would not be enough time in the day to read and digest it all. Now some announcements about contracts won or sales made might be useful but this stuff, .... well it's junk mail. Worthless noise. I'm not shorting Jacobjohn but I wouldn't mind better even you were expecting better stuff than this.

Hardly ramping anywhere my friend is it .. ? Only down due to increasing global negativity to financial markets, I can't disagree that the share price has gone down, do your research but that was biggest futile post I've ever read. Best buying point ever for the company... Buy when everyone else is selling, after lots of research I'm happy to stay with this one. All the best with your future shorting.

JJ- are you trying to ramp this stock. You know it's really very disappointing to get an alert from ADVFN that a new post has been made only to find unsubstantiated twaddle. "Pipeline there and being traversed "- well that is yet to be demonstrated as the company freely admits in its own recent comments- otherwise they would not suffer from delays to revenue flows with its consequent impact on the share value; " its a case of how fast and at what time we get the next news.." -there is no guarantee at this stage or any optimism expressed by the management, that they have successfully filled the sales pipeline with potential contracts; " but could well be probably biggest news ever for the company in my opinion." Admirable enthusiasm but wildly optimistic at this stage.

The fact that the share price is a mere 50% of where it was not so long ago testifies to the risks here. The company has a huge senior management team with all its various subsidiaries- very expensive- and , so far, they have shown little sign of delivering what they promised. Don't bet the farm on this one- in fact prepare to lose your shirt! All in my humble opinion
