Good news!

The cynic in me is starting to think the trading update of 02/09/2021 was a touch negative to allow Schroders increase at a lower price.

The charts for CMCX, IGG and PLUS are quite interesting. Over the past 12 months IGG and PLUS have tracked each other pretty closely. CMCX massively outperformed before slipping back and then there was the recent crash bringing the share price down to be the worst performer of the three.

However over a five year timescale PLUS hugely outperformed in 2018-2019 before their price collapsed. Indeed the chart shape for PLUS 2018/9 and CMCX 2020/21 are remarkably similar.

It's easy to blame the Directors for being overly optimistic and sucking investors in. But these three companies do very similar things and the share prices follow each other pretty closely over the longer term. The message seems clear to me. If one of the three starts rising strongly above and beyond the others then expect a painful correction in 12 to 18 months time.

My broker reinvested my dividend today, got quite a few more than I would have got before the drop. Not sure if that is good or bad but happy to hold.

Tnt 99 - I agree the fundamentals look good at face value but I don’t trust CMC to post accurate or informed trading updates given the last couple. Market volatility and CFD interest will pick up again as we head into the winter months which will be good for CMC so this could be a good buy in price right now but I’m going to stay clear of here for a while and keep my eye on how things progress

So is 275p which looks next

No other chart supports are in though 250p should offer some

Not a nice chart this --- but there are many charts in the FTSE also looking weak now

Ridiculous overvaluation at 284p, considering investors that look for income gonna dump this.


Unless they take on debt to be div, Div has to be cut. 200p? No? 150p no no no? 75p is the price BR is looking.

More profit warning is coming, the UK dog stock market ain't moving. Punters giving up.

Dear All,
In March last year, revenues and profits booming.
May,June, July, August, CMC profits warning, what going on with traders.
Same iG markets last year, profit warning end of July, share price for companies high in December 2020 and good dividend. Analysts on cmc, hold, buy, strong buy. What's going on your boots or ignore these type of companies or buy in dip, hold till Jan 22.

They are paying half the earnings as the dividend, so a massive cut in the dividend is coming.

Izztre - I don’t see cmcx turning the corner anytime soon, profit warning issued last week and they’re going to post below the forecasted figures in this FY….weeks after saying they were keeping the full year guidance.

I could very well be wrong and if you’re invested here then I hope it does turn the corner but I got out a good few weeks back after the ex div and won’t be looking to get back in here anytime soon, best of luck
