To be clear - the Directors didn't buy them. It was bought on their behalf by the company as part of their share plan deal.

Excellent news, but I am a bit puzzled by the 2 director buys. Am I missing something? They appear to have confirmed share purchases a couple of days prior to a major announcement when the share price shoots upwards. Is this entirely legal?

Yes £51m PBT should equate to about 14-15p EPS for H1. Forecasts for FY are only about 20p so should be significant upgrades coming through later in the year if they maintain current run rate.
